This is a tasty cookie. I'm eating it as I type. The recipe can be written better, much better. Thank you to the other reviewers who said the recipe makes about 4 - 5 dozen. I halved the recipe and got about 3 dozen. I love cooking for the creativity piece, adjusting spices and cooking times to suit my taste. When it comes to baking, though, I equally love the exact science of it, being precise with measurements, following directions to a tee...this recipe was written with Ree's typical, adorable style of abandonment...which, for me, is not appropriate for baking. My first few batches of cookies have much less dried fruit and I found myself adding more for later batches. I forgot to add cinnamon, another great reviewer idea, because I was so focused on figuring out the rest of the half-measurements. I'm not interested in adjusting recipes when I bake. Thank goodness the frustration at least produced a good cookie...I think I'll have another bite.

Just made these for my family. I halved the recipe with no problems. I used all ingredients except for apricots, cherries and raisins since my kids don't like them. I used 1 1/4 cups chocolate chips instead. It made a wonderful crunchy and chewy cookie. I will make them this way again!

Overall, very good cookie. When she says 4 heaping cups of flour, you need heaping about 4 1/2 cups total. Our first pan ran together due to not enough flour. We added ground cinnamon and clove for additional flavor.

These are insanely addicting! I used homemade granola and added coconut and cinnamon to the batter. Next time, I think I will try making them with half whole wheat flour. I only baked mine for about 10 minutes because I like cookies to be chewy. My boyfriend is a personal trainer and does NOT eat sweets. I begged him to take a bite and guess who keeps sneaking cookies from the cookie jar?!

I made half of the recipe today. It was absolutely delicious. Even with half recipe I ended up with more then two dozen cookies. I adjusted to what I had at home, which is raisins and cranberries and I added some chocolate chips to it. Yumm!!!

Just made this recipe. It made about 7 dozen. I love them. I'm putting half of the cookies in the freezer to save for kid lunches and quick snacks before all the kids sports activities. Hope they enjoy them as much as I do!

These cookies were amazing! They recieved rave reviews from everyone who tried them! I plan on making these a bunch!!!! I left out the pecans (severe food allergies and substituted crasins for the dried cherries (because of cost.

Hey Cookeville,Tn. I too have made these cookies many times, a little less caloric, but similar ingredients~when I got this recipe many years ago, they were called Rangers. There are many different dried fruits, sugarless coconut, or different flavor chips(cinnamon are the best!to put in the batter. Don't pass on these yummies, folks

These were the absolutley the best cookies I have ever made. My husband loved them. We are great lovers of oatmeal cranraisen, but these are now our favorite. I did use cranraisens in place of the cherries, I was going to cut the recipe in half, boy am I glad I didn't. Thanks so much.
