We loved this! If your not a butter & cheese person than this is not for you. I did bake it longer 20 -25 minutes. I also used pepper jack instead of monterey jack, YUMMY! I was not going to use the green onions but I did and I wasn't disappointed! I will make this again.

I made this bread for dinner last night. It is really good but I would adjust the butter content next time. When I tried my first bite melted butter literally ran down my chin. I would half the melted butter next time and maybe even softened butter in the topping. The cheese mixture I used was from the recipe and not the tv show but it was really good.

Ree, My husband and I made your garlic cheese bread for lunch.
We took our first bite and looked at each other and could'nt believe all the wonderful flavors. It's the best cheese bread we have ever had. We love your show, and really enjoy trying your recipes.

Loved the garlic cheese bread. Used her recipe for her sauce for her lasagna and rigatoni ( combined both sauce and added a little extra spice to it and it was delicious . I love her recipes they're so homey.

As my husband said after eating this bread, sometimes too much of a good thing is just too much. That much butter and cheese was just too rich. On the episode where Ree makes this, she does it a little bit differently than the directions here: using Pepper Jack cheese instead of Monterey and Parmesan and brushing the bread with just the butter but leaving the garlic slices in the pan, etc. I followed these directions as written here and paired it with filet and baked potato. I will not be making it again.
My two suggestions would be to first omit the 1/2 stick of softened butter in the spread and just increase the mayo a bit to make it spreadable. And secondly to spread only a very thin layer of the cheese mixture on each loaf.
