It is a tradition in my family that we try different meat loaf recepies. I think this is the best one yet. I added 1/2 chopped onion, 2 cloves garlic. This was perfect! I mushed the bread so it wasnt clumpy. Ree this was a home run!

I quite liked the concept, being a bacon lover, but two pounds of meat makes a house...not a loaf. Needed to double the cooking time to avoid raw ground beef in the center. Next time I think a pound is the max size. Also, the whole soaked slices were an absolute fail for me. I will return to bread crumbs. The bread never fully integrates into the meat so you're left with white slimy blobs in your meatloaf. So sad.
Oh, and my oven is calibrated fine and I mushed the bread meat mixture for several minutes...not wanting to over work it I don't know what more one could do.

This was surprisingly delicious. I was pretty skeptical, but it was really good. The only thing was that the bacon did not crisp up. This was fine for me,a s I like my bacon a bit chewy, but that is a no-no for my husband. On the plus side, I got all his bacon. I used a pretty thin-cut bacon, so I am not sure what to do about the bacon failing to crisp. I will attempt to broil it before I put on the sauce. Also, many reviewers said to double the sauce, but it was too much. I prefer using real mustard, instead of the powdered one. It adds a fresher tang. Great leftovers too.

Amazing and awesome! The bacon gave a great flavor while the parm cheese helped balance out the sweet sauce, this will be a winter staple for my family : must try, give it a chance!!

This was very good, I halved the recipe and had to make it on a sheet pan, but it still turned out well. You could easily add vegetables if you want, but I enjoy it as is. Thanks Ree for a great recipe-

The recipe looked fairly similar to my own family's, so I decided to give it a try. Without thinking about it, I made the sweet sauce to go over the loaf, not realizing I wouldn't care for the sweetness from the brown sugar. The meatloaf isn't as moist as my own and doesn't have a great deal of flavor that I could determine. It turned out very dense with a heavy sweet sauce baked into the top which I don't care for. I'll be sticking with my old family recipe.

This recipe is the worst meatloaf we've ever had; sorry to be brutally honest. No disrespect meant. Making this was a waste of time and money! If food network can send me a check for $15 to replace my ingredients, I'd much appreciate it. I wish I could give it a rating lower than 1 star. I have no clue as to how this meatloaf rated 5 stars with some folks. Must not have tried the recipe for themselves.
