These were great...excellent with coffee in the morning. I only had 1 vanilla bean so I had to put half in the dough and the other half in the glaze and it still came out great. I did increase the cream to 1 cup since many reviews stated it was too crumbly..it did help although I had to use my hands to knead it(the fork did not mix it enough. I've made several of Ree's recipes and all have been fantastic!!!

These were outstanding!!! Note: To those who find the dough too crumbly, my experience has been that different flours absorb liquids differently. That being said, a little more cream may need to be added if the flour consistency is too crumbly. But make sure not to get them too wet or they'll be kind of "biscuit-like."

I didn't have vanilla beans or real butter, so I used margarine and vanilla extract (several tablespoons and they came out great. The dough had to be kneaded a good bit to mix together, but then stayed together perfectly to cut into triangles and transfer on the parchment paper. They did spread out a little more than I wanted during baking, but that is probably due to using margarine. I will definitely try again with butter and vanilla beans.

The dough was very crumbly, and hard to work with. I am a seasoned cook and had a hard time with it. It was very hard to transfer the triangles of dough to the cookie sheet without them falling apart a bit.I would really try to compress the dough better next time before trying to make the triangles. On the other hand they did cook up nicely, much bigger than expected, and also I was able to dunk the entire scone without it falling apart! You must wait the extra 15 minute cool down period before trying to frost them. All in all I think these are good.

I am very disappointed with these scones. 1 I love Ree's recipes 2Because I spent some money on the vanilla beans 3 I regularly make scones and these did not turn out at all. The first few I baked flattened out like cookies. The next set I put in my mini scone pan (I prefer not to put scones in it rather muffins and put in in the fridge for 1 1/2 hours to chill. Then I baked them at 400 for 15 minutes (simiar recipe in my scone cookbook. The mini scone pan solved the spreading issue, but they are so crumbly I can't even take them out of the pan whole. Maybe I can salvage the crumbles by adding strawberries and whipped cream to it.

I thought this scones were really good, but not 5 star good. I did use 1 1/2 sticks of butter and 1/2 stick of margarine since I read some reviews about the dough crumbling. The margarine will help the dough stick together better. The scones were very moist. If I make these again I will only make 3/4 of the glaze or maybe just half. There was a ton of glaze left over and I double dipped each scone and even poured some glaze on top.

These are truly the most moist scones i have ever had. In fact they keep the moist texture in a ziplock bag for days. That being said I was only able to get half the scones made as the dough is incredibly hard to work with. The dough constantly broke apart. Especially once you cut them in triangles. Near impossible to get them up and off board without falling apart...Once they break apart.... again near impossible to put back together. Even with the dough being difficult. I'd definitely make again and again because these scones are so moist. Delish !!! Dipping the scones in the glaze can be a bit tricky.. You have to gently place in glaze..turn over gently and gently grab scone in middle or place a spoon under scone in middle before pulling out or they will crumble a bit. That part is workable when you get the hang of it.

So good and tender and flaky. Most scones are dry. These were a little too fragile to dip completely in the glaze, otherwise they fall apart. I drizzled glaze over top, let dry, and then drizzle some more. Outstanding and I'll make again. Be sure to stir the vanilla caviar into the cream well or you'll have clumps of it. Love Ree's recipes and look forward to more tasty treats!

These were so easy to make and turned out great. I drizzled the glaze on top instead of dipping them.
