The first time I made this recipe I did half the bread with olives and half with artichoke hearts. I liked the olive bread, but I loved the version with artichokes. I have made this several times and I always use canned artichoke hearts. I also half the mayo and butter. I know, no fun, but a little less guilty. I have made this with goat cheese instead of Monterey Jack and smart balance sub for butter and that turned out great, too. I highly recommend this recipe. You can really play with it and make it your own if you aren't into green olives.

I made this several times and it is phoenomenal. I always look for a healthier version of recipes so after making it a few times following recipe exactly I decided to cut down on the amount of butter by about half and mayo by half and just a little less cheese and it was still fantastic and no one seemed to notice the difference in taste. It is a guilty pleasure but worth it!

Yummy!!!!! Had to make a couple substitutions due to lack of ingredients - shallots for green onions and cheddar for jack but the result was still fabulous as both a dip and bread.
