this was a good concept, however the rings did not turn out right, not sure what we could have done differently. we will try again however.

These were absolutely fabulous!! Use large sweet onions. So much better than attempting an onion ring recipe. You'll think you are having an appetizer at a local restaurant.

Super easy! Super fast! An absolute hit at our family gathering. We couldn't get them fixed fast enough. Some ate them as a side, some ate them on their hamburgers and some added them to their salad. We added a little more cayenne pepper than the recipe calls for but we love it "hot". You can't go wrong with this.
Way to go Pioneer Woman!!!
P.S. This is the first ever review I've written. This is the first recipe, other than one of my mothers, that got a "thumbs up" from everyone!!!

Wow! If I'm not carefully, I could easily get addicted to this! I had the onions finely chopped and soaking in the buttermilk, so at 11 at night, when I was about to start my mom's chocolate birthday cake, i decided to make these.... I just put some oil in a small saucepan and fried 'em up nice and quick. Unbelievable. So fast. So tasty. So crispy. Mmmmm.....
I can't wait to teach this to my niece and nephew. Definitely a great recipe to ease people into deep frying. this was quick and easy!! Thanks Ree!

These are wonderful. Stack them on a burger, serve them as a side, you won't be able to get enough of them.

Seriously easy to make and delicious. I made theses for our Super Bowl party and they were devoured. We added them to our burgers as Ree suggested and they were outstanding. Their texture is awesome; so crispy! I highly recommend you purchase an oil thermometer. It's the difference between the perfect crisp or soggy rings.

Took these up to my dads bunkhouse and he loved them. Next time I will make a dipping sauce but i really like think soaking them in buttermilk makes all the difference.

My husband made them for dinner with grilled strip steak and creamed spinach. It was wonderful - definitely a keeper, thanks Ree. Perfect!

Fantastic!! Crispy, flavorful, wonderful on our rare treat of dry aged prime rib eye. Will definitely make these again and again. The only comment we have about cooking them was that it took longer than we thought it would to get them golden and crispy. It could have been that the oil wasn't quite hot enough though, as we did not use a thermometer. Just make them! They're great!
