Great recipe! My husband loved it. I used a few shallots instead of the onion and added some cooked sliced Italian sausage to the sauce. I will definitely be making this again. I also followed the advice from other reviews to cook down the Vodka for about 10 minutes. Just delicious!

Loved this. Simple and quick. Hit with the family. I used half tomatoe sauce and half paste to make it a bit thicker. It was a nice change from my standard pasta options.

I reduced the vodka to a 1/2 cup after reading the reviews. Excellent! I will make again.

I love this as a base and I add Scampi Prawns on top for company. I always get compliments. I serve Vodka Martini's and it's just fun to say you have put Vodka in your dinner. People always get a laugh.

Excellent rendition of vodka penne. I used a scant 1 cup of vodka. Must be sure to cook the onions, garlic and vodka mixture for a sufficient amount of time to be sure most of the alcohol cooks off. If in doubt, just taste it before adding the tomatoes.

This is my go-to recipe when I need to make something super fast. It takes very little time to make but it tastes amazing! Not sure why others say the vodka taste is overwhelming. This is a huge hit with everyone who has tried it. Also reheats well for lunch the next day. Serve with garlic bread and a little salad and wait for your guests to tell you how awesome you are!

I was scared to try this when I read the post about the vodka being to overwhelming but I am glad I tried it. DELICIOUS! My 10 year old loved it as well. My husband was the one that I was afraid would not like it but he LOVED it. Next time I will add shrimp.

Anyone who said that the vodka taste was overpowering did not simmer it long enough. Once you add the vodka, you must cook it down for at least 10-12 minutes. If you do this, then 1 cup of vodka is NOT too much. It's perfect, with just a hint of vodka flavor. Also added some crumbled bacon. Delicious!!!

YUMMY. I don't find the vodka overwhelming AT ALL. Great balance of flavors.
