One cup of vodka is far too much for this recipe. I have made this recipe before from an old family recipe, but with less vodka and far less heavy cream. The vodka does not cook off enough in the short cooking time required, so it would not be suitable to serve to children if a cup of vodka were used.

This is literally one of the BEST pastas I've ever had! Delicious and creamy and perfect! The vodka taste is not at all strong at the end, and doesn't "make your kitchen smell like a distillery" -- some people need to try the ACTUAL recipe before they decide to hate on it! :

It was excellent, and so easy to prepare. Ree has a way about her that is so appealing to everyone. I had served the meal tonight to my husband and myself, and we both raved about it. Keep them coming.

Was a great recipe. I changed a few things for our family preferences, lowered the onion amount, vodka amount and increased the seasonings (salt, pepper, and pepper flakes. Added asparagus and grilled chicken. It was a nice change for a Saturday night family meal! Quick easy and enjoyable! Thanks Pioneer Woman! :

This is an excellent recipe we have been making for years and it's always well received when we prepare it for special folks and occasions. My husband actually cooked it for me when we were dating and that helped seal the deal! How neat to see it on your show, Ree! Living on the coast we often top it with shrimp or chicken now and then as well. I've been a fan for some time (love your website and now we enjoy you coming over to our "little ranch in SC" on Saturdays. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing your tasty recipes and sense of humor with us!
