My grand mother used to make eggs like this, but Ree's look much nicer, so I tried it. My oil must have been way too hot, as the edges got bubbly & the egg stuck to the pan. Will definately try this again though, as my husband said the egg had good flavor.

Eggs can have the same exact result when you cover them. Just be sure to not leave it on too long. I enjoy Rees' recipes, former farm-ranch girl that I am.

I turned up the heat a little too much, but I got very crispy whites (warning-it can cause oil splatter-so be careful and the yokes were perfectly done. The best fried egg I ever had!

I tried this method for sunny side up eggs, but whenever I tilted the pan to scoop up some oil, the eggs slid on top of the spoon. Frustrated ... I made a stop at my local drug store & picked up a large eye dropper ... problem solved. I can now place the hot oil exactly where & when I want.

My husband cooks eggs this way. Best fried egg I have ever eaten. He is now our official fried egg cook.

My husband said his mother made them this way when he was little, but I never knew how to make them for him. After reading the previous posts I knew I'd have a 50/50 chance. Well, they turned out great...PERFECT!!! Thank you so much for the tutorial!!!

bout time someone shows how to cook an egg with canola. I can't say how many times I've tried and failed. I learned how to with butter, but couldn't figure out why oil was so different.

Ok, my egg did not look like it did on the show. On the show, she had a perfectly cooked sunny side up egg. However, what I ended up with, did not taste bad, but this technique that she showed will take me several tries before I can make it look like the "Perfect Fried Egg".
