This pot roast was so tender and delicious! I loved it and will definitely be making again. With more onions and carrots next time.

Hello all. I have been trying to cook a pot roast for over 50 years and have never succeded in a tender roast. This receipe not only was easy but DEVINE. It was tender, tasty and easy. I love the Pioneer Woman recipes. I add my own little twist and it is to die for. Thank you Pioneer Woman.

All the pot roasts I have made in the past were tough. Like the show said, I didn't cook it long enough. My husband and I loved this recipe. The meat turned out so tender and moist. I did have to cook it longer than I thought, I had a little less than a 2lb roast and cooked it for 2 1/2 hours.

The added herbs of Thyme and Rosemary made this dish. I did wait and add my carrots an hour before the meat was done which was enough cooking time. Thanks for the delish recipe. Blessings to you and your family Ree.

So easy and delish! I love this show and this recipe is a perfect example of why. Super easy, super yummy and easy to find ingredients that are all in my pantry already. This is real food I can feed my family every day, not some of those fancy recipes that may look fancy but the kids and the Hubby won't actually eat. Keep them coming! Love Ree, love this show and love her cookbook the show inspired me to get.

    Hello REE,
I make that all the time ,here in N.J. We call that a chucK roast .But I really want your Potato recipe. that you made with your pot roast. Sounded soooo yummy! We also cook that type of a chuck steak in a piece of Reynolds Wrap and put a package of Liptons onion soup mix and a can of Campbells cream of mushroom soap undeluted.on top of the Chuck roast, seal the package and put in oven in a pyrex baking pan at 350% for about 1 1/2 hrs. Also served with Whipped garlic mashed potatoes and fresh Carrots and fresh string Beans Yum! Love your show!

This was delicious. But I did find the carrots dissolved due to length of cooking. Also, I did add a thickening to the juices to make a light gravy for my mashed potatoes. I made the recipe as stated. Next time I will make it without the wine. Excellant
