I watched the episode when Ree made this pot roast, and knew I had to try it. Honestly I have never made a pot roast when I didn't use a Bag-n-Season mix! This was AMAZING! All the veggies were tender and the meat was unbelievably moist and just fell apart! My kids LOVED it. Thank you very much for sharing this recipe. It will definitely be a staple in our house!

It does take some prep work, but i've made it both in the oven and in the crock pot and every time it has turned out great. My son who is also a picky eater LOVES it. Definitely a winner!

I make this recipe almost every week. The aroma when it is cooking, smells so good. The juices are amazing as well. This is truly the best pot roast I have ever made. I, personally, cook mine for an extra hour because we like ours super tender. I love Ree's idea of not cooking potatoes in the pot, as I have always done that and they would come out too soft. I serve the roast and vegetables on top of the mashed potatoes and pour all of the juices on top and sop it up with some hawaiin sweet rolls, soooo good!

I never tried this recipe because it says it is "perfect" and how could a perfect recipe possibly be free and on the internet? If you had a perfect recipe wouldn't you charge for it? Is there a committee that determines which recipes are perfect? What a dilemma! I printed the recipe just in case it would be taken down from the internet, but didn't even buy the ingredients. So one day last month I couldn't resist the urge to just try this recipe and see how perfect it is. I made the pot roast by following the recipe exactly as printed online. Not only was it as close to perfect as I've ever tried, but I liked that the recipe provided a range for many of the ingredients allowing for flexibility.
