OMG...these potatoes are sinfully delicious! I used fat-free milk not the whole milk plus the heavy cream and they were wonderful! I don't mind peeling potatoes like Ree mentioned she doesn't like to peel 'em, but this was that much faster and easier than most recipes and yet wonderful! We seemed to have lots leftover, so tomorrow I'll do something fun and we'll enjoy the leftovers!
    Thanks Ree!

I give this 3 stars only because the cooking time needs to be increased alot, I thought the time would not be right to have tender potatoes so, I cooked them just covered in water in microwave for 6 minutes, also diced them small and peeled them also. I still had to increase cooking time almost double and I used half and half with whole milk because that is what I had, also used mild chedder cheese, don't think it matters just whatever cheese you have would be fine, bland taste afterall nothing in them but salt and pepper. Will just make my own from now on.

I really liked this recipe.. next time I think I'll peel the potatoes and I won't go so light on the pepper.

Based on this episode, I went for the trifecta - I am not a baker, but a decent cook - by cooking the pork, potatoes & slaw. While the potatoes were delicious, I felt the recipe did call for a bit too much liquid. Could have had something to do with the fact that I didn't use heavy cream, just half and half and 1% milk. I felt like the potatoes could have used more cooking. I kept taking the dish out of the oven after the suggested cooking times and then having to put it back into the oven. I would add an addt'l 20-30 mins of cook time - most of that under wraps. Great flavor! In the episode, Ree says NOT TO SKIMP ON THE PEPPER! I also added 3 cloves of chopped garlic and that helped the flavor a bit, too.

Faabulous dish. Can be served with a simple meal or a fancy prime rib. Love this dish!

Peeled and sliced the potatoes in rounds and cut the recipe in half. Some of the reviews said there was too much liquid, but I found I needed a bit more for half the recipe. Also added some garlic and onion powder. These were okay...not fantastic. I think the potatoes need to be par-boiled first to take some of the rawness out. I've done Saturday's complete recipe today...have the Flat Apple Pie in the oven now. I'm a good cook but not a baker, so I'll review that later tonight!

Yesterday I made the entire episode of Ranching in the Mist. A big sucess with my family and friends. Potatoes-These are my new favorite potatoes. So,so yummy. Next time I am doubling the batch. The pulled pork was excellent, though the sauce was more spicy than I was expecting. Great compliment with the slaw, cool and delish. And though I was told never to mess with my own apple pie recipe, I gave the Flat Apple Pie a go and - I have to admit, it was fantastic. A great ending to a great meal.

usually love rees recipes. decided to make the trinity yesterday. loved the spicy pulled pork.thought the coleslaw was some of the best i ever made (did cut down on the milk and it was still a little wet. but i found these potatoes to be very bland. i ended up adding onion powder, seasoned salt and fresh parsley just to give some taste. will never follow this recipe again.

Love all Ree's recipes! This one is another fabulous one! I do recommend slicing them thinner though.

Very good! I think next time I will slice the potatoes thin instead of dicing them to make them softer. I love this recipe! :-
