This was so easy, I used my food processor, and Ghirardelli 60% Bittersweet chips, also used 1 tsp. really good vanilla, 2 tsp coffee liquor, and 1 tsp coconut flavoring. Will toast some beautiful coconut flakes later to top it with. I love that it makes a rich, wonderful dessert without using dairy. I used Cafe du Monde coffee (super stong does not make the dessert bitter. Use good quality ingredients. A dash of Vietnamese Cinnamon always goes in my chocolate recipes. We love dark chocolate so using the "darker" flavors was perfect for us. I would like to try this with Myers Rum also. Thanks Ree!!!!! LOVE you show!

I don't understand the bad reviews, I think thier mishaps may be operator error. This was a rediculosly easy Pot de Creme recipe to follow. Less steps with a wonderful end result. This was silky and rich and sinfully delicious! I would warn not to use too strong of a coffee to avoid bitterness, otherwise, fool proof recipe! I'm trying it again with white chocolate for a cafe au lait flavor... Probably adjust the chocolate upwards to make sure it sets properly. Thank you Ree, busy Moms everywhere are inspired by you!

I am wondering if those who reviewed this previously were following the recipe?? If you did not use semi-sweet chocolate chips(as Ree did this likely would be bitter . . . I made this recipe but had bitter-sweet chocolate, so added about 4 Tbs of honey and also used Cointreaux instead of Gran Marnier -- loved the texture and the flavor -- really needed the whipped cream and lots of orange zest in the whipped cream - this makes a big recipe and it is VERY rich -- I cut the recipe down and made 1/4 recipe and it was more than enought for my hubby and I for an early Velentine's dessert - I will definitely make this again -- and again . . . =-

I love pioneer woman, but this one was awful!! My blender broke from this recipe and "pot de creme" was everywhere. Managed to salvage a bit of it -- watery and tasted like coffee. So disappointed and ended up scrubbing my kitchen for an HOUR! :(

Wow. This was awful. This is a quick and easy version of pots de creme. Like many quick and easy versions of things, what's left out is vitally important. In this case both cream and sugar are needed -- and not just as a garnish -- to cut the bitterness of the chocolate/coffee combination and for texture. Do yourself a favor and bypass this one and make a real pot de creme.

Oh my goodness! This recipe for pots de creme is bitter and slimy! What a waste of money.
