I used this recipe today and the turkey turned out to be extremely juicy and flavorful. After cooking a 15 lb turkey for 2 1/2 at 275, I only had to put it in the oven to brown and reach the desired temp for only another 40 mins. I will definitely make turkey this way again.

I had to try this ahead of time so that I can make sure it will showcase my Thanksgiving meal the way I wanted it too.....and I must admit, it was very delicious. I have always brined my turkey, but never added the Orange peel nor apple cider. Our turkey was so tender and flavorful we hardly even noticed any of the other side items. We focused on the turkey. It was that good! I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to be a star at Thanksgiving. And I will definitely be keeping this brine recipe for future use. Thank you for an awesome recipe...Pioneer woman.:-

Thinking of Great Turkey Ideas this year, I found this Recipe on the Food Net Work/ Pioneer Woman Show... I love the idea of Soaking your Turkey in a Brining Bag or a Pot before cooking. Flavor is one of the most important things to me in Making a Turkey. Thank You for this Wonderful Idea. I haven't tried this yet, but looking forward to trying something new for Thanks Giving 2012.
