I don't like giving bad reviews. I really don't. But this was the worse chili recipe I ever tried. One has to wonder if a single person signed up for 50 accounts just to give this good reviews. This recipe is like a pile of hamburger in a pan. A LOT of water had to be added to get anything like chili. One needs to add tomatoes, ketchup, paste or anything to get a tomato flavor. This recipe has no flavor. It needs more chili powder. The onions should go in the pot. And brown sugar should be added. My own recipe has always been the standard in our house. But I decided to try something different. I picked the wrong one to try.

This isn't "perfect chili". This is mexican style hamburger dip. The title is very misleading.

I am always searching for the best chili recipe. This recipe is real comfort food. Added a few more spices and ingredients, but that is how we create our own recipe when someone gives us the perfect foundation to start with. Loved what the corn flower did for the recipe.
If you ever give cooking classes I will drive from Pa to Oklahoma ! Thanks Ree !

Thank you Ree... this recipe was delicious and easy. I did the low fat version because of health reasons... ground turkey instead of beef and no salt tomato sauce. We did use the low fat cheddar cheese which wasn't too bad. You are a dream with all the wonderful recipes you create and your wonderful family life!

Ho hum and about as basic as it gets. I added a bunch of stuff and saved it, but have no clue why this gets rave reviews.

Made the beanless version. This was really easy and I was surprised at what a difference the masa harina made. It's a great base that can be expanded on. We ate it on Fritos w/ cheddar, onion, & jalapenos. I also made chili cheese dogs too. Next time, I will up the heat a bit, we like things spicy!

This is a great Chili recipe. I used it over Frito's and made Frito Pie and then froze the rest. I'm looking forward to trying it in stuffed peppers.
