Way too spicy! Never cooked with chipotle peppers before. My kids like spicy food but this was too much. The dish would be good if only used a 1/2 or even a 1/4 of the can, very difficult to enjoy.

Loved it! I used a 3 1/2 lb pork shoulder and 3/4 of a 7 oz. can of chipotle peppers and let it cook 7 hours in the slow cooker. It was just the perfect amount of spice! My husband looked completely puzzled when he saw me pouring in the can of Dr. Pepper but I have actually seen pork recipes with soda pop before. It was delicious, leftovers for us both today! I will definitely be making this again.

I used a 6 lb. pork butt and all of the ingredients as listed, except for the chipotles - I chose a 7 oz. can. About an hour into the roasting, I got nervous about the heat... I ADORE heat but my guy - not so much... so I removed about half the peppers. The result was so tender, flavorful and delicious. Even still, it was pretty spicy. However, before putting the leftovers away, I removed all the peppers from the pot and by the time I tried it today, the complexity of sweet and smokey had really developed overnight and balanced the heat in such an amazing way. It needs no additional sauce and is some of the best pulled pork I've ever had, much less made myself. Will absolutely make again (and again...

I fixed the Spicy Pop Pulled Pork for supper tonight. And I must say WOW that was awesome. I used 2 12oz can's of Dr. Pepper and followed the recipe to the letter and it was out of this world.
I am looking forward to making more of Ree's recipes. If anyone ever complains about it being to spice I would tell them don't use a HUGE can of the chilies then.

Oh my, this was great, easy and delicious. I tried it the same weekend I saw it. It made enough to share with family and friends, who asked the recipe. I used a 7oz can of peppers and coke and a little extra spices. We love spicy. After it was cooked I added our favorite BBQ sauce to thicken it up a bit. Can't wait to try again with Dr Pepper and crock pot.

for you guys who complained about this being too spicy, I think you didn't have a large enough piece of meat. She is serving 18-20 ..... I used a 5lb shoulder and a 7.5 oz can of peppers, half of everything else and it turned out great.

This receipe was absolutely yummy. Saw the show and made it today. The aroma coming back from church made our mouths water. It was a little spicy, but would make it again. Can't wait to take a taste to a co-worker to try.

Your children were able to eat this? WAY TOO MUCH HEAT! Used only 7 oz. chipotle, family was overwhelmed with the heat. Loved the flavor, though!
