I used a 5lb bone in roast. I use a clay pot cooker and it was a little small-so,used only one can of pop. It WAS way too spicy. However, the roast was done in 4 hours. I then pulled out the meat and added the second can of pop to the sauce. I turned the heat way up and reduced the sauce. Meanwhile I shedded the meat. I then put it back in the pot for a last 1/2 hour. Great- the extra pop counteracted the really hot pepper taste. Would be great with the cole slaw but I did not have that. I still prefer barbeque pulled pork but this was good.

I made this for our church's young adults group so made one in dutch oven and one in crock pot both where amazing. Loved the taste, tender and juicey. It was on the hot side so next time will take out the seeds. Even better warmed up the next day, and did not seems as hot. We had it on buns, bread and in wraps. Froze left over and had them appx a month later and just as wonderful!! I was amazed how much it made.

This is really good! I did take the seeds out of the peppers because my husband doesn't like super spicy food. I did love the smoky flavor the chipotle peppers gave the meat. It was really good. My family didn't mind having leftovers. The au gratin potatoes are wonderful with this recipe. It's a keeper. I really do like Ree's recipes and Pioneer Woman is a must see show! Thanks.

I cut the chipotles in half however it was still very hot! The favor was excellent! I will cut out the seeds of the chipotles next time. I will do this one again and again!
My husband really wanted me to make this one and he loves hot! He was the one that said to cut chipotles in half. He had never cooked with them before but now we know!
    Thanks for sharing this one!

I used a 8lb pork roast. The end result was bland but honestly how could you tell. It was ridiculously hot. I think I lost a few tastebuds. The entire 8lb roast went into the trash.
I and my family love spicy food. I had some trepidation about adding an entire can of the peppers so I only added half the can!!!!! Don't waist your good money on this!!!

I did not think I was going to like this. I'm not big on sweet and savory or chipotles in general, but my husband walked by when I was watching the show and said "that looks so good, but you would never make it." Well, challenge accepted and it was amazing!!! I only added about 2 tbsps of brown sugar, but the sweetness and the heat really balanced each other leaving it not too strong one way or the other. I'm still bewildered as to how it became soooo flavorful with how easy it was and how few ingredients, but I'm fine with that. I'll definitely make it again. Also, check out her blog for more detail and more suggestions for using up the pork.
