I give this only 3 stars bc I think a whole can is crazy! I love spicy food but OMG a whole can!?! I used 4 peppers and still a few ppl thought it was too hot. We also ate it just like a roast not on a soft shell like she did. Maybe that would cute the heat. Other than that it was YUMMY! PS I also used cherry coke bc that's what we had. I have had it before with Dr.pepper also with good results. Thanks! A&A Deppen

Delicious with the right amount of kick using the full can of chipotles in adobo. Easy to make and the house smelled fantastic! I used Coke and a Boston roast since that was the cut my store had. I cooked mine in the oven as I was using the Crock pot for Trisha Yearwood's Mac and Cheese. The two of those FN dishes with cole slaw made for one yummy meal.

I made this in my crock pot and really did not like the flavors very much. Ree Drummond, you've been chopped.

Wonderful! Although I am a real wimp when it comes to spice. Therefore, I only used half a 7 oz. can of peppers, and it was still just a hair to spicy for me. My husband says this is his new favorite recipe, however, so I probably will not change a thing next time. I also used Coke, like others have said.
Made this again tonight for my parents as well as my family, and everyone loved it. Kept it the same as above, but added garlic and a dash of liquid smoke. Took someone else's suggestion also, by cooking first in the oven, then pulling and putting it in the crockpot with 1 cup of the liquid and a cup of barbeque sauce. Everyone loved it. Definitely would not put any more than a half of a 7 oz. can of chiles.

Great recipe! I have made 4-5 times. I use a lot of chipotle pepper recipes and was skeptical of 1 can! But surprisingly it isn't too spicy, in fact I now add 11/2 cans. Really tasty as tacos, burritos, tostadas, etc. Really yummy!,,

I normally cannot enjoy spicy foods but this dish is absolutely fabulous. I use a large pork roast and a smaller can of chipotle peppers that way it is not too spicy; just really flavorful. It is easy, satisfying and delicious. Perfect for a lazy Saturday watching football! I make a lot of Ree Drummond's recipes and this is one of the top ones I have enjoyed. I love her show, she is so down to earth and has a precious family.

I used a 5.75lb boneless boston butt, I also removed most of the pepper seeds and pureed everything before adding. After 4 hr 45 min in oven it was perfect to pull apart, the remaining juice in dutch oven however was VERY spicy. Once pulled, I put it in a crock pot and spooned about a cup of the juice in, then put about a cup of my favorite bbq sauce in and kept it warm for the party. Served with slider buns, this was definitely a hit with the guests.

Hats off to you Mrs. Drummond for this delicious, most simple recipe!! When I read the ingredients I couldn't help but giggle; Soda pop in a roast? I had to try it & it was fantastic!! I did add chopped garlic & used cola... My sweetheart & 3year old gobbled it up!! & that's saying a lot; This recipe is a KEEPER!! Thank you:

First--Adobe chiles can vary in heat one from another. Open can & consider removing seeds/membranes, taste a dab before. Think of it as preventative action.
Then I wanted a more smokey taste so got out my Liquid Smoke bottle & generously rubbed it in all over roast. Sprinkled w/ ground pepper.
I then added Ree's ingredients--only used a smaller can of Adobe & make sure you use NON-Diet soda pop as the fake sweetener in most pop SHOULD NOT be heated. I used root beer. I also sprinkled in some minced garlic from a jar, cause I like it.
I used electric roaster oven out on my deck & my hubby said the smell was heavenly even before heat. On high 450F for 1-1/2 hours & then lowered, was 6+ lbs.= 6 hrs for me.
Served w/ Corn on cob & simple slaw made w/ Ranch drsg doctored w/ lime & dill weed & horseradish. Served w/ options of Peach, plain BBQ sauce.
Make own adjustments--add Ground Ginger/ splash of bourbon/ orange marmalade/ soy sauce, etc.-make it your own!
Thanks Ree!
