My first canning experience. I have her cookbook and was following her very easy step by step instructions and it couldn't have been easier. Everything worked out accordingly. My husband is raving to his family about my strawberry jam. Thanks Ree.

This was my first canning experience. Easy, easy, easy. However, I used 5 C. of mashed strawberries and it only made 5 pints of jam??? Also, I was nervous about 4 TBSP of lemon juice so I only put in 3 TBSP and it is perfect! I hard boiled it a bit longer, probably 2 minutes..on accident...the jars weren't ready(:..but it is perfect..not too runny or firm..just right. This is a great recipe, not too tart, not too sweet. Thanks REE!

Not sure this recipe was ever tested in the test kitchen.
ERRORS: 5 pints of Strawberries do NOT equal 7 1/2 cups mashed fruit. I needed to figure out that 3 more cups of berries = the 1.5 cups of fruit I was short. Also the fruit pectin was not clearly stated. (49G TOTAL required OR did this mean a packet = 49g. No recipe should be left open for interpretation. NOTE: Way too much sugar. I will change this receipe going forward. Follow my blog + see my reivew of the step by step process of this recipe at Couture and Cannoli Cafe.

Love this strawberry jam recipe. Very similar to the one we use; only exception is that we add a pat of butter to the cooking process to prevent the jam from foaming. Easy to make with children!
