Wow! The recipe name says it all. My husband and I couldn't stop gushing about how good this is. He called it green bean candy. I didn't think anything could beat the green bean casserole which I only make once a year anyway and this I would make all year long and of course is healthier too. I have been wishing for a tasty fresh green bean recipe for years and had I known how delish this was I could have stop wishing long before now. I can't wait to try it on my adult daughters when they come home to visit. They don't really like green beans and hopefully this will convert them.

Not a green bean fan, don't even like my Mom's green beans. So, I was skeptical of this one, but I tried it and I LOVED it. I went back for seconds!! That never happens. I only eat green beans because I know they are good for me, believe me --they get kicked around the plate a few times. But these were the Best Green Beans I have ever had - great title by the way. :

I'm no longer skeptical. I thought there was little you could do with green beans to make them excellent instead of just good. This recipe does it. I used 2 half-pound bags of whole "steamable" FRESH green beans -- the kind you get in the produce section already cleaned. I even made them in advance and reheated them without them gettying mushy. If you like your green beans somewhat crispy, cut the cooking time down. I prefer mine NOT crispy, so this was perfect. Way to go, Ree!

Flavor was good, but the beans were overcooked for my family. My duaghter asked if they were from a can :(. It could be that I like mine really crisp.

You are so right- these beans are great! I made these for Easter dinner and everyone loved them. They're a great replacement for the beans with mushroom soup recipe that I used to make- a new addition to holiday dinners!

I made this for about 40 people and everyone loved these green beans. It was a home run. My sis was having Easter dinner the following weekend and she requested that I bring this dish. Yummy!

Good title for this recipe - they are the BEST I've ever made. Great flavor and easy to do. I followed the recipe exactly - including the bacon grease. Who doesn't like bacon???? I did not need to add any additional chicken stock - it was just the right amount. Ree has some amazing recipes that are simples to make and delicious to eat. Keep 'em coming, Ree!
