Did not enjoy at all, My first instinct was why use pumpkin pie spice in a sweet potatoe pie. I tried it anyway, and I was disappointed. It tasted like a pumpkin pie and not sweet potatoe.

Im not southern- nor had I ever tried sweet potato pie. My sister requested it- she lived down south for a bit- I picked this recipe- just because it was on when I was watching the Food Newtwork...Holy Yummy! This recipe is delicious and got rave reviews from my whole family!! I omitted the lemon altogether and increased the vanilla just a tad. Beautiful!!!

Thought this would be a quick and easy recipie for whenever I needed to cook a sweet potato pie. However, the Lemon Zest and Lemon Juice TOTALLY took away from the sweet potato taste. Very poor taste. Did not taste like a sweet potato AT ALL. Next time I will not use the lemon and add more Vanilla extract.

Any self respecting Southerner and soul food cooker know that lemon juice is a must when making sweet potato pie. It is truly unfortunate that "it" doesn't sound right for some of you. My mother, her mother has been making sweet potato pie since I was a child and you always add lemon juice. Must be an ethnic thing.

Great recipe, omitted the lemon ingredients all together and was delish. Everyone loved it for Thanksgiving and have requested it to be made for Christmas as well. I will definitely make this over and over again!!

I left out the lemon (didn't sound very good to me and the pumpkin pie spice (this ain't a pumpkin pie! I added cinnamon and cloves instead and everyone loved the pie. I will definately make several of these for our office Thanksgiving Dinner.
