Just made this soup tonight, and it was a hit with the whole family! Will definetely make it again, and I must say, it was super easy. I will try some other options next time as other reviewers posted. For ex. Rotisserie chicken, and corn, possibly cumin. I love the flavor that the lime and cilantro give it, it makes the soup! As for the tortillas, next time I think I will use authentic mexican corn chips to crumble in. I grilled the tortillas until crisp, but they seemed to get soggy right away. Also, love the avocado, I would've never thought to add that, but all the flavors and textures complement each other so well. Definetely a keeper!

Great soup and would probably would never have tried it if it weren't for the super reviews. Two jalapenos weren't spicy at all. My husband added more in his bowl. I also added corn plus the beans for a heartier soup. Now I'll use for a luncheon next weekend too!

Thanks to the reviews I decided to use a store bought rotisserie chicken (which I normally would never do! I also added an additional can of chicken stock ,corn and 1 tsp of cumin. I deseeded the jalapenos (it might have been too spicy for my 2 year old??I cut up some corn tortillas and "fried" them in Pam... yummy soup and even better that it was so easy!

This soup was amazing! It is soooo tasty and will be one of my favorites for years to come. I changed a few things just based on what I had available. Instead of the black beans, I used corn. I also used rotisserie chicken and added 2 additional cups of chicken broth and an extra can of diced tomatoes. Definitely use the lime...it makes the recipe!!

Love, love, LOVE!!! This soup makes me happy when I eat it. I don't want to share the left-overs with my husband if that tells you anything! I served it with tortilla chips instead of the strips of tortillas and it was AMAZING. Perfect amount of heat from the peppers without being overwhelming. This one is getting added to our family's favorites for sure!

Seeing so many excellent reviews, I restrained myself from adding cumin, chili powder, green chilis to this soup. Made it as written; a can of this a can of that. I felt I was cheating! Even used rotisserie chicken. My husband absolutely loved it and I did too. Used corn chips instead of flour. Cilantro and lime are terrific.

This soup is a meal! Added a can of corn after reading other people's comments. Otherwise followed the recipe (added extra tomato sauce. It came out great. Hubby and I had two bowls for dinner.

This recipe is perfect, the only changes I made was to add a can of corn, and I used chicken thighs instead of chicken breast. Believe me and the other reviewers, this soup is delicious.

I've never reviewed anything in my life. This soup is the best everyone that eats it asks for the recipe. I change out the beans for corn but other than that follow it to a tee.
