This recipe is amazing!!! The salmon was so moist and delicate. The anchovies truly make the vegetables taste exquisite! I made few changes and these don’t make too much of a difference. I baked it without the skin. I feel that you can add as much butter as you want, to your liking. I baked it at 400F for 25 minutes. Also to make it easier, I used panko bread crumbs. You rock Tyler!!! Your recipes are always great!

So, I'm on a fish-and-shrimp only diet and looking for new and interesting ways to prepare fish, with lots of veggies. This really fit the bill. Easy to make, and I made some adjustments: DELETE the butter entirely and just top off with olive oil, no bread crumbs. If I'd had some of the healthier butter replacements on hand I might have tried that, though. Either way, it was still yummy.
I also added some toasted pine nuts and sliced, grilled mushrooms and lots of spiciness because I love spicy food. Yummy, versatile dish.

I made this salmon for a dinner party last night. I made 8 mouths very very happy! Everyone loved it. I followed the recipe exactly...no substitutions. Thank you Tyler!

We eat A LOT OF SALMON in my house. This is a very good way to prepare it, and add veggies all in one big swoop. Everybody loved it at dinner last night. It took a little longer for prep than it says, and I am not exactly slow when it comes to chopping. I also made the Watermelon Gazpacho that Tyler had on the show with the salmon. What a combo. GREAT STUFF, thanks Tyler:

Made this last night after seeing Tyler make it on TV earlier in the day. I rarely make any kind of fish at home, but I thought I could manage since it looked relatively simple to make. It wasn't quick (probably took an hour but it was actually pretty easy since there are pockets of time to make the herb butter and topping while the veggies saute. I cooked my salmon without the skin, but the butter and topping kept the fish moist. Also, I didn't use fennel (not my favorite flavor and the veggies were still very tasty.
There are a few notes missing from the recipe that were mentioned on the show - Tyler didn't use the entire batch of herb butter, maybe 1/3 of it and saved the rest for another use. Also, I don't remember seeing him toast the bread crumb topping before putting it on the fish - they get plenty toasty in the oven.

I used tons of basil and way less butter on a grilled branzino. I usually use fresh oregano and thyme in the slits in the skin of a whole fish - tonight I used the basil butter and it imparted the most wonderful flavor into the fish. I also don't use butter - I use Smart Balance Light not as rich but takes advantage of the herbs. If you use all the butter you see on the food channel you'll be dead in a few years.

Hi All,
I enjoy watching Tyler, and this is by far the best salmon dish I have ever had..
I made this today for my family.. I think the fennel went very well with the fish.. I wasnt sure at first, but after tasting all the veggies.. SLAM DUNK! I used a bit more tomatoe paste ... I took the advice of other people and took the skin off the fish... glad I did- very, very moist! I used panko breadcrumbs with the basil mixture for the topping..
Enjoy!!!

I thought this came out good, though not great. We served it to dinner guests with mixed reviews. Everyone liked the salmon, only half the guests liked the vegetables. I used 1 eggplant ( I knew it would not be popular and added a cup of sliced mushrooms. The fennel was a waste, after caramelizing it was indistinguishable from the onions and went largely uneaten on the plates. The half cooked tomatoes were not a hit either. I might consider making this again with a different mix of vegetables and some herbs to season them.

Probably one of the best fish dishes we ever had. My husband and I didn't think it was possible to get stuffed on fish - but we did. We made just over a pound of salmon and all of the vegetables. When I make the full amount of salmon the recipe calls for (which I plan to do, I would make more vegetables for the base.
