WOW, I MADE THIS STUFFING FOR THE FIRST TIME LAST YEAR & TOOK IT TO MY SISTER-IN-LAWS HOUSE FOR THANKSGIVING. (HER STUFFING WAS HORRIBLE EVERY YEAR AND I WAS TRYING TO HELP HER OUT WITHOUT TELLING HER HOW BAD IT WAS. LETS JUST SAY THAT IT WAS SUCH A BIG HIT THAT THEY HAVE ASKED ME TO MAKE IT FROM NOW ON FOR EVERY THANSKGIVING CELEBRATION WE HAVE TOGETHER. IM ACTUALLY MAKING IT AGAIN FOR THURSDAY. ONE DIFFERENT THING I HAVE DONE IS INSTEAD OF THE BREAKFAST SAUSAGE ....I HAVE USED HABENERO SAUSAGE (SPICY. AND I WILL BE BUYING THAT HABENERO SAUSAGE AGAIN TOMMAROW WHEN I DO MY SHOPPING. I RECOMMEND YOU GUYS TO ALL TRY THE SPICY SAUSAGE FOR IT....EXCELLENT CHOICE FOR THIS EXCELLENT STUFFING.....IT REALLY CANT GET ANY BETTER THEN ROBERT IRVINES MOUTHWATERING GOODNESS....HAHA (THAT SOUNDS KINDA DIRTY I DIDNT MEAN IT THAT WAY.....I MEANT THE STUFFING BUT YOU ALL KNOW WHAT I MEAN....<3

I made this as a substitute to the dressing we've always had for Thanksgiving. The only thing I'll change on Thanksgiving Day is less apples, and less cranberries. It was more sweet than savory, but it was very, very tasty, at least my wife and kids thought so. Hopefully my mom thinks so too!

I made this recipe last year for Thanksgiving, and it was a hit. I loved it so much that I made it again in May. I'm so glad the recipe is still available online. My grocery store had run out of leeks, so I didn't use them either time I made it and it was still great. Highly recommned it.

This is the most delicious stuffing I have ever had. It's an easy recipe, too. I made it for the first time last Thanksgiving and have been making it all year. It does make a lot, but we eat it as leftovers! I need to double the recipe for our holidays, it is that scrumptious. I always use the amount of liquid suggested because we like our stuffings super moist. Can't wait until Thursday!

or maybe just induct it into the family recipe box sans ceremony. all i can say is wow, this is the stuff dreams are made of...only downside is that when i eat different stuffings, i miss this recipe even more...

i agree with the fact that it makes WAY too much, we had enough to feed like 25 people! (then again I guess thats a good thing if you have that many people to feed because it was fairly inexpensive to prepare

The stuffing was very good, just made way too much, will have to scale it down next time.

Overall, the stuffing was quite tasty. When I make it again, I will cut the recipe down by at least a third, which would result in the perfect amount of dressing for 6 people.

This was so yummy. I made it for our pre-Christmas dinner and everyone just loved it. It does make a ton though and I ended up not putting all the veggies into the bread crumbs. It just seemed like too many. I would definitely make this again!

It's a little bit of work but what good stuffing isn't?
I used it in a Crown Roast of Pork with plenty of stuffing leftover for baking in another LARGE casserole dish.
Those who find the breakfast or Italian sausage too overpowering may wish to substitute with a chicken or turkey-based sausage.
This was a nice break from the traditional Cornbread & Sausage stuffing.
