YUMMY!! I did not add the tomatoes and did not add the half and half (I used 1 cup and 1/2 of cream and then added water to watch the carb count I was a bit hesitant about using mozzerella instead of cheddar, but I'm glad I tried it with the mozzerella...the recipe is super light and fluffy and very, very tasty! Will make this again for my morning atkins breakfasts!!

This is a GREAT recipe for a pot-luck brunch. It's a bit pricey to make, but so worth it! I have used turkey sausage as well as what's indicated on the recipe. Both worked really well! It holds up to re-heating as well.

I doubled this recipe for a big brunch crowd and baked it in 2 casserole dishes. It was the hit of the brunch for those didn't want anything sweet and the men loved it because of the Italian sausage. Definitely will not throw this recipe away, like so many others.

Very good recipe!! I used maple sausage and it was excellent. I think spicy italian would be really good too.

This recipe was awesome...I substituted the Italian sausage with Jimmy Dean's Mable Sausage and added a layer potates and sour cream at the bottom of the pan...like a crust. I sliced the potatoes as thin as I can and fried them up with VEG seasoning by Chef Paul. Added sour cream and simmered while I fried up the sausage mixture. Put the potatoes on the bottom, then the sausage mixture added a cup of 5 cheese then added the egg mixture etc...
People at work loved it and devour it. Thank for the recipe!

This was quite good, I cut it in half for my husband and I and have leftovers that will go quite nicely in a burrito for my breakfast tomorrow. I did sub evaporated milk for the cream and half and half (I'm unemployed, money is an object right now and used 3 whole eggs and 1 egg yolk.

I made this dish for a teacher breakfast at my school and everyone loved it. Since I don't eat pork, I substituted Italian turkey sausage and it was great. I also added slice mushrooms to add some variety. This goes on my "make again" list.

I served this as a vegetarian dish by substituting grill asparagus, orange pepper and a marinated artichokes for the sausage. It was a huge hit with my guests. I think any combination of veggies would work well. This is what I had on hand. Well done Robert!

The recipe as I made it merited one star, but I am giving it three stars because I'm wondering if it was the brand of Italian sausage I used that made it so bad. I am allergic to eggs, so I was unable to taste the end product. However, no one in my family particularly cared for it. They all thought the Italian sausage taste was too overpowering (even my mother whose favorite sausage is Italian sausage. I will give it another shot, though, with a different brand of sausage and maybe even just regular pork sausage. PS: I might add that my son thought that the casserole was much worse when reheated (contrary to one reviewer. I will try again one day and report back. (Seven people rating this recipe five stars can't be all wrong!
