I usually don't like french toast but I was hungry this morning and wanted to make something better than eggs and turkey bacon. I knew we had all the ingredients to fix french toast so I looked up a recipe. This was the first one I found. Quick and easy, I only used two eggs because I was making 3 slices. Sliced some strawberries on top and it was great! However, I dont think I whisked my egg mixture enough because the first slice actually had a layer of fried egg on one side (which wasn't such a bad thing..yum! Will be making this again.

When your family is eating a meal in complete silence, it is usually either a very bad or a very good commentary on the quality of the food. When the silence is caused by them stuffing their mouths as fast as possible, pausing only to reach for seconds, you know it's a good sign, and that was a picture of my breakfast table this morning, when I made this French toast. It is scrumptious! I find it funny that this recipe would be a creation of Chef Robert Irvine, because, from his books and shows, I know that he hates cinnamon, but this French toast packs a cinnamon wallop. I've never had French toast so cinnamony, but it really works. The sugar and spices made this dish special, and the egg/dairy ratio, though different than what I'm used to, was "spot on."

This was one like my Grandmother and Mother made when I was growing up. The cinnamon, nutmeg and sugar makes all the difference. It was easy; great for kids like to help in the preparation side of cooking.
