This is a great and easy green bean casserole to have during the busy holidays.

I only used one red onion, but added 12 ounces of sauteed thin sliced cremini mushrooms and added about 4 ounces of half and half. I also used a fire roasted diced tomato, instead of regular diced tomatoes.

My family was leary of the tomatoes and red onions in the non-traditional green bean casserole, but it was actually the best dish at Thanksgiving! Everyone loved it, even the skeptical ones. Thanks for the great recipe!

I've made this twice for 2 different holiday parties and this recipe, which is a twist on an old favorite, was the most popular! Make sure to use red onions to add a nice sweetness to the dish. Once you make this, you'll never want to use canned grean beans again!

I added half a teaspoon of basil into the dish, and it became a hit in my family! I loved the way the tomato burst on the tongue. Definitely a keeper.

I made this at the last minute before Thanksgiving dinner, and wasn't sure how it would turn out. It looked great and to my surprise, everyone loved it. It was the only serving dish empty at the end of the food-4-all.

I really liked the tomatoes for color and flavor. I would cut the amount of onion in half to give it a more balanced flavor and appeal to a broader array of appetites. Wonderful variation to an old favorite.

This was fantastic! My husband and I watched Robin make this and just had to try it! Great change from the classic! The onions and the tomatoes give this dish a whole new flavor! Thanks!
