I was a bit surprised to see a Robert Irvine recipe given one star, so I decided to try it. The first reviewer is right on -- no amount is given for baking powder. Hmmmm, must be a type, but all of my other cookie recipes call for a teaspoon for this amount of batter so that's what I added. Also, because I didn't have any bourbon and I had them handy, (we have a tree and all of the lemons ripened at the same time I added Meyer lemon zest and juice in place of the bourbon. Meyer lemons are sweet - they are a cross between a lemon and a mandarin orange - and it worked beautifully with the orange liqueur. Honestly, my family raved over these.

Frankly, this is a boring cookie. rolled and cut cookies should be worth the effort. These are not. Important: the recipe calls for baking powder but does not list it or it's amount in the list. Instead, I used baking soda and many other recipes did.
I also used FireBall Whiskey in lieu of the Bourbon. Still, nothing. Basically a sugar cookie with a ginger, cin, sugar topping. boring and incomplete.
