Thank you sooo much for the recipe. It is so yummy! I did take "kptaylor" suggestion of using half cream, half milk and it was great!

This was sooooo good! I felt the directions were a little unclear though so here are my tips. Add all leeks at the same time. Chop onion don't quarter them because I had big pieces of onion that did not get blended completely with my immersion blender. I used only 1/2 of the flour and butter (1/4 cup of each and made a roux in a small saucepan cooking the flour a bit before adding to hot soup. I also used half milk and half cream instead of 1 cup of cream just so it wouldn't be as fattening. I just had this for lunch the second day and it is even better. Do yourself a favor and try it!

This was just fantastic, and I have made potato leek before, I only blended two cups then added it back in , just the perfect texture. Also my husband hates celery so I Judy added two tablespoons of celery flakes and it was just great. Also used two bay leaves instead of just one and just a cup of whole milk instead of heavy cream to keep it lite. This is just the best soup ever.

This is my favorite comfort food. I made some yeast dinner rolls to go with it. Perfect for a rainy, snowy cold day. Robert Irvine is wonderful.

Wonderful, easy, cream of potato soup from Robert. You can add any kind of chowder ingredients i.e., shrimp or crab and adjust the spices to taste. I added a handful of frozen peas & carrots along with sliced potatoes, used half-n-half, no salt/onions, spices + dill and bay leaf combined with the rest of Robert's recipe. Awesome, delicious, rich and tasty. Thank you, Robert.

This recipe is great!! It's very flavorful and creamy but not too heavy or overly rich. I even made it once and didn't puree it but just cooked everything down until the leeks and potatoes were extremely tender and it still came out great! I put some extra spices in there too like garlic powder, a little lemon parsley and a little italian seasoning! :

This recipe is easy and delicious! The flavors are so harmonious. I modified it to make it gluten-free with a "rue" of butter, brown rice flour and cornstarch. Lovely!
