My husband is English and Apple Crumble is an English staple. When I made this he was super happy with it! He said it was better than his mom's. (but swore he would deny that to his mother. It's super easy and it's yummy. Sometimes I add boysenberries and that's awesome as well. I also never use the lemon juice.

Excellent recipe. Easy to make and tastes fabulous!! Would recommend to everyone. My family loved it better than apple crisp. Lemon juice not really needed. Delicious warm with a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream. So Good!!! Will definitely make this often.

I added 1/2 cup of chopped walnuts, which was just the thing. The 1/3 cup of brown sugar was a bit overpowering though. Next time I'll reduce the amount.
