DELICIOUS!!! Could an apple pie get any easier? I make this so often, I could do it with blindfolds on! I originally followed the recipe but now I make all kinds of variations. I omit the cranberries (not a family favorite I am a crumb topping of 1/2 cup flour, 1/4c brown sugar, 1/4c sugar, pecans, and a 1/2 stick of butter. I use egg wash and lightly brush the edges of the galette and sprinkle with sugar before baking, great for added crunch.

Yum yum! So easy to make-it's a must. Do add a pinch of nutmeg and cinnamon to the apple mixture and a few pats of butter. Brush the crust with melted butter, too! I substituted brown sugar for white sugar. Also, I agree with some of the other reviews that you have to bake this for longer than directed. It took about 35 minutes for mine to bake through. Serve warm. Your family and friends will love you for making this.

I made this the day after i saw this episode. I don't make pies or bake much for that matter. I buy already-made pies, so this recipe sounded too good to be true. It was so quick and easy and delicious! I read other comments and also added nutmeg and cinnamon and some butter in the middle. My daughter and I loved it! We ate it all and made it again the next night since i had extra apples leftover. It can take 20 min to bake as long as the apple slices are thinly sliced. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to go with this recipe and you're good to go. Will surely make this again!!! Thanks Robin! It's a keeper!

As others suggested I added some nutmeg, cloves, cinnamon and butter and it tasted just like an apple pie it was great. Have made it several times as it's so fast and easy. Wonderful recipe!!!!

a Fabulous recipe, easy to make, and any variety of dried fruit will work. I have made these at least 3 times now using mixed dried fruits, dried cranberries&blueberries, and fresh frozen fruit (which didnt turn out as well, due to too much juice Ive added cinnamon and flour and nutmeg to one, there are so many different ways to make these. the natural sweetness is what I love the most!, not artificially sweetened. Will continue to experiment with these, each one has been a huge success with all my family!

In years past I have slaved for hours making homemade apple pie. This version is not only delicious but it takes minutes to prepare. I added a few of my own ingredients and vary it each time (e.g. cinnamon, crumb topping, orange liquer, orange zest. I doesn't matter. Each time it has turned out great. My family loves it and I don't have to spend and hour and a half making it. Genius idea!

My husband and I really enjoyed this desert. I did add butter and some nuts. I have also used canned pie filling when fresh fruit was not available. Very good.

I love this recipe. I agree that it takes a lot longer than 20 minutes to brown the crust. The first time I made it, I took mine out of the oven after 40 minutes and it still wasn't quite brown enough. The filling can be "tweaked" in many different ways just for the fun of it. It is also enhanced by placing slices of butter on the open area when it comes out of the oven. I'll make it frequently.

i must say i modified this by using homemade applesauce in stead of fresh sliced apples-i had some on hand and i was afraid raw apples would never get cooked thru. very delicious and we finished it off in one sitting : we'll definitely have this again and i plan to try other flavors too-peach preserves, maybe!

In addition to the dried cranberries, I added walnuts, brown sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon and finished it with an egg wash so that it would brown a bit. I also used one more apple than the recipe called for. Based on other reviews, I cut the apples thinner than she did on the show. It came together quickly and was so much easier than making a pie - and the presentation was even better! It was a big hit with the family!
