Listen this recipe as a healthy alternative to the real thing has a little promise, add another 1/4 cup milk will thin the batter 2 eggs would do the same and also will help the batter brown easier.... if you cut the fish into pieces like a nugget and bake it the same it will be much easier to eat (without all of the batter falling off. Clearly this is a base recipe be creative i Cajun seasoned my cod first and then battered it it gave it a bit of bite instead of a honey vinaggarette i made a spicy tartar sauce by adding some horse radish to it. easy as pie bon apetite.

I agree with all the others about this recipe, tasteless, batter was too thick, came out of the oven looking like pancake batter, etc. Also pulled the batter off and ate the fish.
I decided to make this as I saw Robin make it on TV and hers was golden brown on the show, didn't look anything like what mine did! Maybe she dropped it in the fryer during a commercial? I love Food Network too, but not this recipe!

The batter took longer than the recipe stated to bake, and when it was done, it still didn't do much for the fish. It tasted like a very plain batter, seemed too thick for my tastes, and the dipping sauce was terrible. The amount of vinegar could have been less, or more honey should have been indicated, as it was overwhelming. The only thing keeping this review from being "awful" was that it was actually palatable, though not as good as I expected. I did not make the fries, and regret not having looked at the ratings as I usually do prior to cooking. I usually have good luck with Food Network recipes, but this one disappointed and made a good piece of fish go to waste.

We followed the recipe and soon discovered that the batter was very thick (too thick. At that point, I added a little water and did up the fish anyway. Then, and only then, did I decide to check the reviews. They are all correct. So, in order to salvage the fish, I improvised. The fish did not brown in 10 minutes, so I left it another 4-5 minutes. At that point, I brushed the partially brown, yet gooey batter with melted butter and Odobo seasoning and put it under the broiler. It somewhat browned nicely, but not evenly because of the thick batter. Well, the husband gives it a thumbs up because he doesn't like fish anyway, and says that the bready coating cut the fishy flavor (we used some frozen Cod, caught by a brother in CA last year. He put ranch dressing on it. It is bready, like pancake but different. The fish was also overcooked by the time I was done with it. Play with it, and see what you can do. I love food network, but in my mind, this is not a workable recipe as-is, and should be pulled. A recipe with this many problems should not be on your web site. Sorry Robin. Try again.

This recipe was flat out bland. The batter was too dry as well. I don't recommend trying this recipe.

It wasn't horrible but not a keeper recipe. It never browned and didn't want to overcook the fish to make it brown. The vinegar sauce was wonderful. I will make that again. The fries were just so-so. We used basa which was a great alternative to cod. Tilapia would have worked well also. I liked the batter (tasty but the presentation of the bright white batter was awful. I found a recipe with a macadamia couscous that we almost went with and wish I would have. Sorry, Robin... this was not a recipe I would rave about. The one with the mandarin orange sauce is a much better selection.

I was looking quickly for a fish recipie and did not see the rating and did not read reviews - bot I wish I would have! Lesson learned. THIS WAS HORRIBLE. I wasted $15 of cod - it all went in the trash. After 30 minutes the "batter" was not golden brown. Thankfully my dinner guest called and cancelled due to flu - or I would have only had the veggies I made to serve!!!!

You never make a "batter" for anything you are baking! I think with a little seasoning and beer this would work well only for frying. I enjoy watching Robin and I have to say all the posting about her being anorexic is annoying. She looks healthy to me. You have to wonder what the people that write the negative things about her actually look like.
