So tasty and simple to make. Batter was great. Just wanted to make a note, on the show she used 2 egg whites which made the batter fluffy. The pan was about 3/4 full of oil @350 degrees. Will definately make this again .

The flavor of the beer batter as well as the sauce was fantastic. I loved it. The only reason why I took away one star was because the beer batter didn't seem to stick well onto the fish when I put it into fry. Unfortunately, half of the batter came off of the fish so I will need to do some adjusting to that myself. Other than that, great recipe.

It tasted great. The sauce was simple and was a great pairing with white steamed rice.

At first glance, I was a little concerned about the oranges called for by the recipe, but they work, they add a little bit of sweet to the spicy sauce. It evens it out. This would also be a good sauce on chicken. The sauce makes the dish as Tilapa tastes like nothing. I really liked the beer batter, but I cannot see how baking the fish or poaching the fish would drastically alter this dish, as the fish is bland and the sauce does all the work as to taste. I plan to try this simple sauce again on other items, it was a surprize hit. Serve the sauce on the side to keep the fish crispy.

What a great batter! I used this recipe (minus the topping for fish and chips. It was wonderful! I cooked my thick fillets 3 minutes on each side and that was a great time estimate but any more and the batter may burn.

This is a winner at our house. Easy to make. The only change I made was to use canola oil for the frying, turned out just like the picture and was GREAT!.
My husband even ate it cold for a midnight snack and ask that I make extra everytime so he has it just for that purpose.
Have made this twice already and just got the recipe. Definately a keeper.
Thank You Robin. Will look for more recipes from you.

Oh by the way, the sauce was terrific! I imagine it would be good on other dishes as well. Thanks again.

We each Tilapia regularly and the recipes for this fabulous fish are somewhat limited so it was awesome to come across a different type of recipe and I am telling you it was FABULOUS! Thanks Robin Miller!!!

Thanks for a wonderful kid-friendly recipe. My daughters were thrilled that their version turned out just like the picture and they loved the sauce. "it's the best part!" They did go easy on the chili sauce - about 1/4 teaspoon was all they dared. Even without the spice, I thought it was a great recipe for very little effort or money and we will certainly make again.

I cut the tilapia into strips and served it as fish tacos with the mandarin orange sauce and shredded cabbage. I served it with her adobo black beans and rice recipe from another show. It was a huge hit with my family including 3 kids ages 9, 7 and 3. Just watch the amount of chile paste as it can be overpowering. YUM!!! This is probably the best of the many Quick Fix recipes I make for my family. Thanks Robin!
