I've been using the recipe for more than a year now. I only use one cup of chicken broth which turns it into a great side, although you could have it as the entree. The dish holds its own without the crabmeat so I don't add it.

This soup was just delicious! Fair warning, it is a little spicy. I can't think of one thing I'd change about it. SCRUMPTIOUS!!!!!!!!

I used ham, since I had some that needed to be used. It was nice that my hubby was able to have the crab meat that he loves and I could leave it off. This will definitely be one we make again!

My family doesn't like black beans, so I used pinto beans instead. I also thickened up the soup with some brown flour, omitted the crab, and served it over rice. My picky family asked to to make it again!!!!!

This soup is really flavorful! I couldn't find the sausage in the recipe so I substituted Mexican chorizo. It was fabulous! Also I cooked it for 8 hours on Low. Got to try this one!

This soup is great, easy to make and if a toddler will eat it and want more...need I say more? I have made it with the crab meat and with out, my family likes it either way.

Didn't have crabmeat, but it really didn't need it. The fresh cilantro adds a wonderful taste, and it's surprising how spicy this soup turned out! We added a little shredded sharp cheddar to our bowls to tone down the heat. We'll definitely have this one again.

I really enjoyed this, although I usually prefer a thicker soup. I'll experiment a bit with it as I think it is worth it. I didn't use the crab. And I think the Andouille sausage was great. Had never had it before and I'm thinking I might try the rest in Split Pea Soup instead of using ham.

I knew this was going to be good= I love using our crock pot. I added a couple extra vegetables like potatoes and yellow peppers. I will be making this again. If you haven't tried it yet you must. Thanks Robin.
