You know, some people LIKE their tea unsweetened. But for those of you that do... try adding honey or a syrup or an artificial sweetener if you prefer that kind of thing. She's more or less providing a list of spices that you can use to make a chai-tea smoothie and then you can adjust it to your preference. Might even try adding a type of fruit to it that you think would complement the spices. I'm thinking apples would work nicely. Or maybe even pumpkin.

As is, I would give this zero stars. It's not a creamy smoothie, it's icy, and there is NO sweetness. It is bitter from the combination of bitter spices. The only ingredient in this recipe with any sweetness is the yogurt. So, either choose a super sweet yogurt, or add sweetness. I added some Splenda and a lot of agave nectar, which sweetened it up nicely. I still threw most of it out because it just wasn't that good.

I luv it. I made it with my almond milk and heated with my espresso steamer, I added a little maple syrup for sweetness and tomorrow I am going to add it to my coffee, I mixed the tea and spices together and added 1 tsp to my drink and it's wonderful, just like the chai tea latte from starbucks: Thanks for the tip, i've been looking for the chai tea mix at the store and it's got a lot of sugar this is sugar free you can add sweetness with maple syrup since I an vegan i don't use white sugar. Excellant

I was really looking forward to making this...I love smoothies, I love chai tea, but I hated this recipe. I tried adding sweetener and other things to try to make it palatable, but I just couldn't do it. Down the drain it went, unfortunately.

I think the flavor of this recipe depends on the kinds of instant tea & yogurt you use. I adjusted my smoothie to have 2 tbls of instant tea with about half the yoghurt and I really enjoyed it. Any more tea was too bitter, more yogurt was too sour. Also for cardamom, try Whole Foods - theirs is about $7. If you want other uses for the spice, add it to coffee to make Turkish coffee (that's why I had it in the kitchen.

after spending $18+ on ground cardamon, ( I did have the other spices in my store cupboard, this smoothie went down the sink.
Do not waste time or money on this.
AWFUL

This was not what I expected. I have made hot chai with tea bags and the same spices but with cinnamon sticks and used boiled milk and sugar then strained it and it was delicious. This was not one of her usual good recipes.I will have to toss this one and stick to my old one.

Maybe if I played around with the spice measurements I might enjoy it better. It's a great concept but I feel like I just ate a spoonful of cinnamon and cloves.

I must say this one was BAD. I tried everything I could think of to doctor it up, including adding a little Splenda and more yogurt - but we ended up dumping it.
Sorry, but this was NOT a keeper!

Just not very good at all. Had to add sugar just to make it good enough not to throw away. This recipe should be revised or just deleted.
