Very tasty. Instead of thyme I used rosemary because thats what I had and I used chicken thighs instead of chicken breast and I had leftover egg noodles. I will make this again.

I added mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes to the recipe per previous suggestions. This recipe is fantastic. I will definitely make it again!

Love the basic idea of it - chicken, rice, a sauce, etc.. I'm all about finding one-bowl meals. I had two problems with it. The dried thyme was waaaay overpowering over everything else, and if you take that out of the equation, it would have been completely bland. I'll try some of the variations people have written about - but as for the exact recipe above, once was enough for me!

well i agree with many. alone this sauce was bland. i use 1 cup of parmesan, and saute mushrooms to add in at the very end( mixing the juice from the mushrooms as well being italian I of course have to as more minced garlic also. we have been eating this for almost 2 yrs now and everybody I have fed it too loved it! as for those who don't like us posting our changes.. this is how many end up with favorite recipes. we read what other have done and are inspired to do the same, or the light bulb goes off to try something all together different. if you don't care for it you better stay off this site as well as all recipes, extra knowledge from others is what we budding chefs look for in these sites.. not just recipes

I definitely see why other people felt the need to personalize the recipe -- it does come out rather bland. After the initial taste, I added lots more cheese and since I didn't have chives on hand, I used green onions and a sprinkle of parsley. It was good but missing something for me -- an extra punch of flavor. I think next time I might add some sundried tomatoes.

This was a fairly good recipe. What was really nice about it was that it was simple and quick to make. The sauce was good, but could use a little something more. And I think that 2 bay leaves was maybe one too many. But overall it was pretty good!

Please people, if you are going to drastically change a recipe, don't rate it. That doesn't help anyone else. I followed this recipe and it was very good and extremely tasty. If you make it the right way first and then find an improvement, all well and good, but don't make your own changes initially and then rate it.

I made this and I thought the sauce was good, but needed more flavor. I added a little more salt, garlic powder, onion powder and cheese.

We made this dish this week and found the sauce to be a bit bland. The only change I made to the recipe was to add a little cheese and sun dried tomatoes to the rice. That added a nice flavor. I liked how easy it was to make. Next time, I'll try to do something a little different with the sauce to have more flavor.
