I thought this was really easy to make, made a few adjustments and will make a few next time as well. I used about half the thyme simply because we're not a big fan, and no mustard because we had none in the house. I used about half the corn asked for, and added the same amount of peas. I also added sweet potatoes which gave it a great taste. I would recommend cooking the celery for a bit first then adding other veggies, and even a bit after that the sweet potatoes (mine came out too soft after baking, then at the end add corn and peas and bake. Came out great!

I disagree with a lot of comments made. Since when is chopping vegetable a lot of prep work!? Don't you add chopped vegetables like onions and celery to your other recipes? This isn't done in 20 minutes, but since when will chicken pot pie be 20 minutes? I think this was pretty quick to be chicken pot pie, which usually takes a lot longer than an hour to make if done correctly. Decent recipe for us that can cook but don't have a lot of time to make too complicated dishes. I never take recipes literally. I always try things and tweak them to my taste buds, and i add and omit as I like. A recipe is just an idea for me. This one was a great idea!

I used some of the comments in these reviews to make a few small changes-used 1/2 the tomatoes, added a bottom crust, cooked veggies and chicken first. It was SO good. I also used more chicken stock and left the wine out, just b/c we didn't have any wine in the house. It was sooooo good. They must have adjusted the recipe b/c it now tells you to cook the veggies and chicken ahead of time, but I saw many past reviews about their veggies not being cooked through? Anyway-it was super and I will definitely make it again.

My kids liked this one and I found it pretty easy to prepare. I made sure the vegetables and the potatoes were cooked through. I also used diced instead of crushed tomatoes because I could not find a 14 oz can of crushed. It did not seem to matter. The whole family loved it! Very easy for the product that was delivered.

Not so many ingredients, but the combination is not good. Take too long for a "quick" recipe. Does not taste good at all; no one in my family would eat it.

A chicken pot pie can be way easier, less ingredients, moist chicken and a lot of flavor with only 2 spices. If you would liie my simple recipe, contact me at sandiesgalley.com, I would love to share.

This recipe is definitely a winner, however, as many noted, adjustments to your personal taste may be necessary. A few I would recommend:
    Precook potatoes--up to 15minutes
Precook celery and raw carrots--up to 10minutes
    Lessen tomato--up to half
These steps lengthen prep time to 20 minutes.

After reading the reviews, I realized it was a great hint to pre cook the potatoes. I added the onion with olive oil into a dutch oven and cooked them until soft and bit brown. Then added the diced potatoes with 1/4 cup of chicken stock and let them caramelize slightly. From there I added the chicken with the flour mixture and followed the recipe. Did use more seasoning than was called for and added baby peas also. Used puff pastry instead of pie crust and used four ramekins to make the pot pies individual servings. This dish was yummy!

Definitely a keeper. Easy pot-pie recipe for starters and good base for recipe adjusters like myself. Don't be nervous about the lack of liquid. I used more veggies than suggested and the liquid amount was fine. I used a frozen pie crust instead of a casserole dish and it was delicious. There was a little extra filler, perfect for tomorrow's lunch!!
