I used to buy pre made Japanese soba noodle soup base but I figured that I should give this recipe a try. It took very little time and the end result was very satisfying. I will never buy another pre made noodle soup base again. The pepper gave just enough kick that I love. This recipe will be by repeat recipe for sure.

This is quick, easy and very good! An excellent dish to make when you have a toddler running around. Will definitely be making this again. Thank you Robin!

i used wheat soba noodles, fresh ginger, and didn't have scallions on hand. it turned out awesome. i made extra sauce, because i had the extra cilantro, and froze it. (i put the fresh ginger in with the sauce instead of mixing it at the end. quick and easy dinner for one. my boyfriend missed out! hahah! i bet the scallions would be awesome.

I made this for my husband and I this weekend. The recipe was quick and simple. I added an extra jalapeno for a little more heat. The prep was easy and the ingredients are things we have on hand.
We both loved it, and I can't wait to make it again.

I absolutely love Robin Miller's recipes and this is so far the best one. So easy to make and even my 7 year old loved it. With removing the jalapeno seeds it wasn't too spicy. We used angel hair pasta because we couldn't find soba noodles and used dried cilantro instead of fresh. The whole family is looking forward to making this recipe again very soon. It's also good as left overs.

Doubled the sauce as others recommended. Used thin whole wheat pasta to save on the cost of soba noodles vs. pasta. Grated fresh ginger instead of pickled b/c it's what I had. Wow, I haven't had a great meal like that in a long time and I cook 5 nights a week and try lots and lots of new recipes. This is my first Robin Miller recipe. I also just added all the sauces together in the pan with the pasta for the last few minutes. Can't wait to make it again and now that I've done it once, next time it should take me about 15 minutes if I do the prep work ahead of cutting up the chicken and premaking the sauce.

I really loved this recipe. I added garlic to the sauce and next time I will add veggies with the chicken.

No need to change a thing on this recipe! It was so flavorful! We absolutely loved it! Not super spicy as long as you scrape out the ribs & seeds of the jalapeno. Probably too spicy for kids, though.

This was an amazing recipe! I couldn't find soba noodles, so I just used angel hair pasta. The sauce had a really great balance of sweet and spicy. Thanks Robin!
