We made a variation of this recipe by using regular pork, not ribs and regular, not chunky tomato sauce. Used the slow cook method which worked perfectly. Have used portions of meat and sauce with different accompianments. Very tasty. You might advise the use of a 6 quart slow cooker due to the size of the meat. That is what we had to use. Your print out recipe also has an error, giving, at the top, a cook time of 3 minutes! We like Robins approach to food and watch regularily.

I've made these ribs three times. You really need to douse them with a good bbq sauce after they're cooked or they're very bland. Very tender though. Frankly, I don't know why all the ingredients are necessary, considering the slow-cooker is going to make them tender, and you have to add the bbq sauce afterward to have any flavor. Not bad, but have a good bbq sauce recipe on-hand.

All the bad reviews here are from people that seem only to know the taste of bottled "Q" sauce. If that's what you like, use a bottled sauce. Those that are into BBQ know that a sauce recipe is only a base on which to build the flavor that you like and this one is decent as written. I added half a bulb of roasted garlic, half a can of Guinness Stout (couldn't resist the other half and a whole Vidalia onion rough chopped. The Guinness might have been the wrong choice (too much flavor and I think next time I'll add a tsp of chipotle chile powder to the mix. But definitely if you want it to taste like your fav. bottled sauce, it won't so don't try this and give bad reviews.

I was very sketchy at first. Mine did not really look like the picture. Also, I tasted the sauce and it seamed like it was missing something. I added 2 cap fulls of liquid smoke and they came out awsome!!!

I was so hesitant to make these after reading some reviews. I am an honest and tough critic. If I don't like a recipe and my family does I still won't make it again. These ribs were so tasty, I have 2 sons that are the pickiest eaters in the world and they loved this recipe. My husband said they were the best slow cooked ribs I've ever made. Because of reading the reviews first I added maybe 1/2 bottle of honey barbeque sauce, you definitely do not need to broil them unless you want them crispy. With every bite we were saying "mmmmm".
