made it last night without oats but instead used corn flakes crumbled in the food processor. Much crunchier and more like fried chicken. Also I salted and added all the spices to a little flour and after brushing with honey mustard I dredged in the flour then the corn flakes. Its not fried chicken but close to it in flavor.

DELICIOUS! I used a few fresh ingredients and blended with the oats, preseason chicken with the spices and sugar, my kids loved it, no leftovers.

YUMMY!!!!! I have had this once as written and last night using bone-in thighs. Both ways are amazingly flavorful, and crunchy :D. I have only made it with the oats and found it delicious AND crispy. I'm not sure how others are preparing it or if maybe they're using oatmeal instead of just oats (?. I actually used my toaster oven when I made these last night for just myself and the DH. Can't recommend it enough

This was so good! However, I did not use oats based on other reviews. I used Italian breadcrumbs. I also soaked chicken tenders in buttermilk for 15 min before slopping on the dijon mustard. I did not use thyme (personal preference and instead used a bit of poultry seasoning. I also put chicken under the broiler for a few min to crisp up the coating. Husband LOVES this recipe!

I love Robin's show and I was really excited to try this with my 7 year old triplets. Its hard to find semi healthy things for dinner that everyone gets excited about. We made these into chicken fingers and my kids were so disappointed! Please don't try it with oats. They did not crisp up as promised on the show and the mustard was a bit tart even for my kids who eat almost anything. The idea of using mustard is awesome. It is so much faster than flour, eggs and then breadcrumbs. I think we will try honey mustard and panko breadcrumbs next time.

this recipe is really good...without the oats. It was a wierd flavor that we felt, did'nt compliment the chicken...we use bread crumbs instead now. Overall a good dish, with some additions

I made it & loved it so I made it again the next week. I thought the oats were a nice touch & the flavor was great. I will make this again & again.

I made the recipe as per instructions. The mustard and spices were all great- I think I'll use mustard in future chicken recipes... but the oatmeal is GROSS. It just tastes like toasted oatmeal on your chicken. Will not be using it again. I think if I make this again, I will just go straight for bread crumbs.

Well, I will admit that I used bread crumbs as I was actually out of oatmeal, but it still turned out very good. My little critics (5 kids all loved the chicken and then add corn on the cob and you have a country meal.

Do yourself a favor and dont ruin your chicken with oats. They completely took over the flavor and ruined the chicken for us..Stick to Panko and then the recipe will be edible.
