the champagne sauce is too strong. Add more cream to it to calm it down. After that, it really is nothing special.

Tonight was the second time i cooked this dish, 1st time was over a year ago. 1st try wasn't all that successful and was nervous about trying again tonight. But i was really craving pork chops and for some reason this recipe really catches my eye. So glad i tried again and this time it was spectacular! The rustic potatoes are sooo good, last time i did it with milk instead of sour cream which came out great then, but this time i decided to go with the sour cream and it was better than i thought. The only thing i changed about the potatoes was i added butter to it and i think for now on these are the kind of potatoes i will cook. The cream sauce and pork chops were better than last time. I followed this recipe to the 't". Last time i used white wine, but this time i used extra dry champagne like stated on the ingredients. I changed nothing nor substitued anything this time. I only added a little seasoning to the cream sauce (advice to those whom have a seasoning taste food palette, but it was perfect in the end. My husband prasied me after he ate it and it put him right to sleep. I just want to say to those who follow foodnetwork recipes that if it doesn't come out as you thought the first time, don't give up. Try again! Nobody's cooking is going to be the exact same. I've learned that substuting is not always the best unless stated on the recipe. My advice to everyone is Never Give Up! This recipe was worth a second try and i'm so happy i did it! Thanks Robin!

I made this for my family tonight and they loved it. On the show today Robin used fresh herbs, but I only had dry.. Well it worked and my husband went for seconds. The only thing I did different was used heavy cream instead of milk since I needed to use it up and I put some chesse in the potatoes... but the sauce was so think and flavorful!!

    Great Job Robin!!

First of all, on the video, she dosen't use champagne, she uses white wine and she uses fresh herbs not dry. Maybe the champagne would help this sauce because I found it very bland and tasteless. If I made it again, and I probably wont, I would add garlic, maybe cook the shallots and garlic in some bacon fat, something to give it some flavor. I think it needs to simmer a lot longer than she did as well. The last thing I would change would be the addition of heavy cream and skip the milk that she used. All in all, the recipe needs a makeover. I don't recommend it as is. Sorry

Thought the meal was good. Next time I would go a little less on the sour cream in the potatoes and let the sauce cook down a bit to thicken before putting chops back in .

I didn't care for this recipe. I choose it b/c it was suppose to be ready in 15 mins. 45 mins later I was finally able to serve it. My sauce never became creamy and most certainly did not even slightly resemble what was pictured. It tasted fine, but can't say it will make it into our regular cycle of meals.
