the potatos could have been richer. I would have roasted the garlic instead of boiled it with the potatos, and used a bit of butter with the sour cream.
in the gravy, flavor was great , i also instead would have used a cooked flour and butter roux thickener in the sauce instead of raw flower in milk.

I saw this program and made it that evening. We thought it was very tasty and looked great for such a speedy meal. I did make a small change-after the chops had browned. I pulled them out (left the shallots in and added some butter and flour and cooked it a couple minutes. I then followed the rest of the recipe. We just don't like the taste raw flour gives a meal. It does lean more toward the bland side, but was still very, very good.

I made this recipe after a long day at work. I was very amazed at how easy and delicious it turned out. I added a bit of chicken bouillon to the creamy sauce and it was delicious!! I plated the meal and topped it with fresh parsley. I even impressed myself!

I adjusted ingredients to what I had available at home: used chardonnay; fresh herbs (tripled the amount called for and half 'n half. It was terrific. Be sure to salt and pepper both sides of the chops and have them at room temp before cooking. They had loads of flavor and the sauce was scrumptious. (I did not make the potatoes.

This is one of my favorite recipes from Robin's collection. I don't understand the comments about it being bland, but perhaps those cooks didn't season the chops with enough salt and pepper, as well as seasoning the sauce. I didn't have champagne, so I used white wine, and also used fat free half and half. The rustic potatos with the garlic were a perfect pairing for the sauce. My husband told me it tasted like something we would get at our favorite French restaurant. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with how delicious this meal is.

This meal was a disaster from the start. The sauce tasted AWFUL! I threw it all out. I followed the recipe exactly. This was AWFUL I would never ever ever make this.

If you're going to go to the trouble of opening a bottle of bubbly and making a nice reduction, it better be worth it. The sauce was watery and never really reduced properly. The end result was really lacking in seasoning. My husband and I were disappointed and would not make this again.
