I went with the written recipe, couldn't really taste anything except the beer, but it was moist, maybe too crusty on the outside but if you like that...next time I will add twice the amounts of salt and sugar and see from there. I hope the second try is worth it. It takes only 5 minutes to make. I too skipped the olive oil in the batter. I think the lighter the beer the better.

I had never made beer bread before, so I didn't really know what to expect. It actually turns out more like a zuccini or pumpkin bread in consistency than a regular baguette or french bread. But it was still good. It kept well for over a week in a zip loc bag. I had it for breakfast several mornings. I just warmed it in the toasterover and slathered it with Bremel & Brown spread. YUM! Like one reviewer mentioned, the next time I make it I may use more sugar so the bread it sweeter. I just ended up sprinkling more sugar on it anyway. Give it a try, it's super easy and fast, and you probably already have the ingredients laying around anyway.

NOTE: I used a beer called Fat Tire and it turned out well.

The bread was really moist, but it fell apart easily. I am going to try it again with another beer. I used a Pennsylvania hefeweizen. I wouldn't recommend it, but my hubby thought it was good.

I watched this recipe's prep on TV yesterday I wrote it down as Ms Miller said it.I
I also DVR'd it in case I had a question later. I reviewed it twice to make sure I had written everything down correctly.

I made it with the 1 and 1/2 cups flour she stated on the show . I got the consistancy of a thin pancake batter and i knew something was wrong but I had of course already added the beer and it was too late.
I went to my computer and printed up the recipe. To my horror the flour called for was 2 1/4 cups and salt was also incorrect at 1/4 tsp vs. 1/2 tsp said on the show.
I baked it anyway and my husband pronounced it "tasteless"

Later I played the segment for him and he agreed Ms. Miller clearly stated "In this bowl I have 1 1/2 cups flour..." Susan Watertown, WI

Beer Bread is much better when made with light beer and more sugar. Also, I didnt see the need for the olive oil.

I love to cook and I am teaching my 5 year old the basics in the kitchen. She loves this recipe, it has just a few ingredients and she has no trouble measuring and mixing them. We also think it's "yummy". She thinks it's interesting looking when it comes out of the oven. She likes to make it for gifts to her nanas and papas. I recommend this recipe

Because this is such a quick, easy recipe I expected it to be good...but it was GREAT! HIGHLY recommended!!! You probably have all these ingredients in your home already and it takes about 2 minutes to put together!

This is a great recipe! When cutting into it, it does crumble a bit on the top, but the inside is moist and delicious and the bottom and sides form a nice thin crust. I used Bud Light (wasn't sure what type of lager to use and it smelled and tasted like homemade yeast bread, nothing too overpowering or strong. Definitely a make again! 5 stars for simplicity, use of staple ingredients, and taste.

This was so yummy... I ran out of the premade beer bread that I normally do... I found this recipe quick and it was a hit at tonight's Bunco party! Thanks!

I did this bread for a humanities project. Everyone loved it. Out of the three breads i did, this was the easiest and tasted the best. I would recommend it to everyone (even if you are short on time
