I have to go with ridf_7278982 on this one. I went with her suggestion and added garlic and some kosher salt . Toasting the almonds and adding them just before serving is a great idea! My family just loved this recipe.

No no no..... sorry, this is a dull recipe. To add layers of flavor and texture to this side dish:
mince just one garlic clove and add to the sauteed green beans. More importantly, do not just warm slivered almonds in the beans.
Take the slivered almonds and toast them til they are browned in a small sauce pan over medium high heat. This brings out the true wonderful flavor of the almonds. Sprinkle on top of the beans when serving. This keeps them firm and tasteful. If you just add to the beans, they become dull and soft. Doing these two things will make your beans amazingly delicious!

This was delicious! I didn't have the almonds on hand, but the greenbeans turned out wonderful even without them! I have a new family favorite!

I liked this. The only thing I did different was used a tbs. of olive oil in addition to the butter. Made it for company and it seemed to be a hit. Very easy to make.

I didn't have any long green beans so I used the cut up ones and it was just as amazing. Took less than 5 minutes. I sauteed the almonds first though put them aside and then sauteed the green beans. with about a minute left I put the almonds in stirred it around a few times and then served it!

I made this for Easter and my family loved it !!!!! I used frozen whole green beans and didn't have enough butter so I added some canola oil. I also used chicken buillion to add more flavor. I will definitely make it this way from now on.

Excellent way to prepare green beans. I fried them up in butter just like the recipe says, but then I added a few spoons full of bacon pieces --- the results were fantastic.
