I lost this recipe some time ago. I had one very similiar that was in Cooking Light when it was first published. The only difference was that is called for frozen boneless skinless chicken breast. You put the chicken right in the crock pot from the freezer. They explained it is put in frozen because it breaks down to quickly otherwise.no bones to pick out this way.

    Great Recipe.

I've made this recipe many times and we love it. It is even better the next day when the flavors have had a chance to mix. I've made this for several people who have asked for the recipe. I can't understand anyone not liking this great dish. I also serve it on brown rice, but have served it with mashed potatoes. I sometimes thicken it at the end if it is too thin.

The longest part of putting this recipe together is chopping up 2 tbsp of fresh rosemary, but it's definitely worth it. The rest was easy and quick and it was easy to put this meal together. Not to mention very delicious.

Everybody commented on the great smells as soon as they walked in the door.
Everyone got up for seconds, they were only upset that I didn't make enough rice to pour all the extra sauce that was left over in the cooker.
I used 6 skinless Breast fillets and 6 drum sticks with skin, 3 apples, a whole onion diced, an envelope of Lipton Onion mix, a green bell pepper and additional creole seasoning. The sauce was as the recipe called for it. Chicken broth and the cream of celery.
I served it with white rice and oven roasted zucchini with olive oil, garlic salt and red pepper flakes.
I will be making this one again for sure!

I'm so happy I read the reviews for this recipe before cooking it for my family. Took everyones advise and found it to be very good. Thicker apples, leave the skins on....they didn't dissolve at all. I also put a little sugar on them as recommended. I did a can of cream of celery and cream of mushroom. UnbeIeavably I didn't have any chicken broth in my pantry (oops! i used a half cup of milk instead. I also added some crushed red pepper for some spice to counter the sweetness. Really liked the results. The only thing I will change next time I make this recipe.....no chicken...all pork. Seems to be a better match. Enjoy!

Being in Phoenix, AZ, the slow cooker is a good piece of kitchenware to have and I use mine often.

I watch this show every morning and I have to be honest ... this is the first recipe I've seen Robin do that I wanted to try. I used boneless, skinless breasts and a full can of cream of celery soup. I didn't chop the rosemary up and mix it in because I'm not a big fan of rosemary, so I just laid the full sprigs on top of the chicken so we could take them out later. We absolutely LOVED this recipe served with white rice. I do think we'll add another apple and maybe use basil instead of rosemary next time.
