I think the meatballs with just meat and a little seasoning were not good. If you are looking for a tasty spaghetti and meatball recipe this isn't what you're looking for. And John (a few reviews down admonishing everyone for not rating the recipe but rather rating the technique etc... You didn't rate this recipe either....you made alot of changes so you are not rating Robin's recipe, but you are rating your own. If you are going to tell the rest of us how to rate recipes on here then maybe you should learn how to yourself.

I very plainly tells yhou to heat the oil, how to make the meatballs, and ad them to the pan of oil. My six year old could follow that.

Recipe is very good, not greasy like so many othe recipes.

haha im a huge fan of foodnetwork.com and was looking for a meatball recipe for a cheap spaghetti dinner. unfortunatly this is not the one. i decided to read the reviews and make half the meatballs as instructed....they were indeed very tasteless. added ALOT of other different spices and they turned out a little better. i dont expect gourmet, but taste is always nice.
oh well 1 bad recipe out of dozens isn't bad !

This recipe is delicious! The flavors of oregano, basil & garlic are always a "hit". I used cooked ground beef instead of meatballs and I turned the meat and spaghetti mixture into a casserole dish to melt cheese over it in the oven.

A lot of people are rating the show and technique not recipes.

Recipe: Yes it sounds a little dull, but everyone's taste is different. I put in some bread crumbs and creole spices in the meatballs and they were fine! The same for the sauce, a few mushrooms, a little butter (love you to Paula, onions and green pepper and the sauce was fantastic.

As far as the person with the chicken problem... I'm studying micro biology so I know a little about e.coli (Escherichia coli and Salmonella, I grew them in a lab for identification. Most people don't know it but E. coli is part of our natural flora, maybe we should shower and disinfect as well. It's always best to wash everything chicken touches, but lets not obsess.

My kids and I LOVED this sauce. I never make meatballs because of the time, but these seemed so quick and simple. (once the meat was thawed all the way. I don't know why anyone else would say such mean, nasty things about it. The last I heard, you could change whatever you wanted about a recipe you didn't like. They're not carved in stone. Hope Robin doesn't take the bad reviews personally. As for the rinsing of the chicken. I can't believe people think they are going to "kill" germs in the sink that won't die when the chicken is cooking. I know I don't have time to disinfect my sink and everything around it everytime I cook chicken. If water droplets in a toilet bowl can fly as far as 6 feet when being flushed, who knows what can get nasty raw chicken juice on it by the sink. I've never washed my chicken before and never will.

This recipe was a waste of time and a waste of ingredients. The meatballs were only slightly better than the flavorless, watery, tomato sauce. It's disappointing that the Food Network passes this off as a good recipe. Don't waste your time on this; buy a jar of commercially-prepared spaghetti sauce if you want a quick meal.
