Not a fan of liquid smoke (I find it artificial and chemical smelling so I used just 1 TBSP in slow cooker. I had a 3 lb. roast so I used 16 oz. of root beer. Cut back the molasses in the sassy sauce to 1/4 cup, deleted the liquid smoke and added 2 TBSP of cider vinegar. Very tasty!! (with Aaron Mcargo's kicked up cole slaw on top.

I found this recipe today and I've made root beer pulled pork in the slow cooker before, but not with the liquid smoke or the spices. Hopefully this will turn out okay. We had a 4 lb pork butt roast in the fridge that just defrosted, but I couldn't cut it in half, so hopefully 10 hours in the slow cooker will help it cook through. That's my only worry is it won't be cooked through. The seasonings all together smell fantastic though! I'm sure the flavor is going to be phenomenal assuming the roast cooks through. :D

They were great and really easy yo make but goodness my whole house, both stories smelled like liquid smoke. It was so strong I had to open all windows to air it out. Meat doesn't have that strong Smokey flavor at all, which I was OK with. I think next time I'd put crock pot in the garage. I also added a couple of TBSPs of vinegar to cut the sweetness a little bit.

It was very tasty and we were eating pulled pork for a good few days. Don't think we needed as much liquid smoke as required, and we would probably cut the amount in half- I actually didn't haven enough in the bottle my husband bought so we didn't even use any in the sassy sauce- but it still left the house smelling like BBQ and was extremely tasty.

The sassy sauce was good too- we doubled the portions for the sauce though because we don't like to leave the pork too dry- and we LOVE our sauce- the sauce was finger-lickn' good...cut back on the molasses a little bit though as it was pretty sweet. Thanks for the recipe will definitely use again!

Super easy pulled pork recipe, the root beer made for a subtle flavor boost not easily identifiable. This is easily going to be a favorite for years to come!

These were absolutely phenomenal and sooo easy to make! I first made them for my family who devoured them all up, so I decided to make them for one of our office's treat days and once again there wasn't a spoonful left. I was also asked to pass the recipe along to them all.

I used pork shoulder roasts in my recipes. The 2nd batch I made, I also used a little less molasses in the Sassy Sauce.

Wow, these were awesome!! We loved the flavor and the pork was so soft and moist. The sauce was really good too and had a nice flavor. It was a little too sweet, so I ended up adding about 3 tsp apple cider vinegar to give it some tang, but overall, it was spot on for both the pork and sauce. And it was all very easy to make.

I used a pork loin roast with the nice fat cap on top and put it in the crock pot for 8 hours on low. It scared me to death to add an entire bottle of liquid smoke to the pork, but it was not overpowering at all. Ended up being very subtle. Will make these again for sure.
