So easy, and easy to manipulate. Thanks, Ina.

This was the first time for me making royal icing and I needed something quick and easy. I thought that this recipe worked well for what I needed, it outlined the cookies very well and dried fast and I was able to put my other frosting on right away. Royal icing is supposed to be thick and harden because it is used a lot for holding things up or together. This is the frosting that is used on gingerbread houses. I haven't seen this used for frosting alone.

I followed this recipe exactly as listed. It was extremely thick and tasted horrible. I had to add add'l lemon juice, a 1/2 tsp at a time and about a 1/2 - 1 tsp of milk to get it to a consistency that was manageable. I typically read the reviews before trying a recipe and for some reason, didn't notice that there weren't any reviews on this one! I don't think I'll be making this again.
