I made the cake today after seeing the show last night. I loved it! very good cake. I just loved the mixture of flavor! The pecan topping was really good! Very funny person you are Melinda we all were laughing about the shot and cake thing. Good Job and good cake!

I give this recipe AAAAAAAAA+! This is a must have. Not only is it one of the greatest foods I've tried, and made, it was easy and quick. I give Melinda all the credit in the world for this ~ she truly is a natural born chef!!!
    Thank you, for sharing this!

I was so looking forward to making this cake after seeing Melinda on TV. I used fresh grapefruits and oranges from the best citrus area of Fla--Vero Beach/Ft. Pierce. The cake was not done at the 40 minute mark. I had to bake it for an additional 15 minutes. I loved the glaze but I was not happy with the heavy and wet texture of the cake. I was most dissapointed in the flavor. I wanted to taste citrus but the banana permiated the cake. I'm not a fan of banana bread and the cake tasted like one. I plan to send the cake with my husband to his office because I don't want to waste my calorie allotment eating something that does not completely thrill me.

I dreamed about this cake last night and woke up at the crack of dawn to bake it. I went against the judges comments about putting the glaze on while the cake was hot. I did as Melinda and glazed the hot cake. It came out perfectly . I just tasted the first piece. All I can say is WOW!!!!!! SO MOIST SO VERY GOOD! as a rule I do not normally eat nor make a bunt cake. However; Melinda made it sound so good I had to try it, I am glad I did it was so worth it. I can not wait until my family gets home to try it. When watching the show I did not know Melinda had arthritis until I watched the little video now I am impressed not just one kind but many, wow again, How Melinda held her composure and ended in a joke after all that was amazing. I also have arthritis , RA. I would half to agree with all the other comments on here. I would love to see much more of Melinda and how to cook handicaped There is so much I can no longer do in the kitchen or at least thought I could not. I need to be retrained also. thank you Melinda I am also inspired to get back in my kitchen more and try. look you got me to bake a cake

Oh my gosh! I've had this cake and it is AMAZING!! I saw the show last night and couldn't believe it when the judges said they thought it was too moist. What is wrong with them. I thought that Melinda handled herself so well. She's an absolutely beautiful woman with amazing style and grace. The judges made a huge mistake with this cake.
Anyway, Melinda, great job and what an insperation you are not only to people with arthritis but to people wiithout. Seeing you handle yourself in the kitchen and making everything look so easy made me wonder why you don't have your own cooking show.
Looking forward to seeing that happen!!!

This is definately a good cake, made by even better person. Melinda Winner has been like a mother to me for the past few years now everytime i come over the the house. Also, every single time i come over here (just about EVERY weekend for the past, bout, 4 yrs there has been a new bakery mystery item for me to sample ha. And everytime i try it, there's no denying that this woman is the most astounding baker on the Gulf Coast, I don't care about Emeril, or Guy, or And "Iron Chef", this woman can wipe the table with ANY of them. This cake, when i did sample it, was like, i don't know, unexplainable, there is no way i describe how thoroughly she prepared this cake, it was like, well, I would say taking a slice of heaven, and wolfing it down, but i don't think even heaven can taste that good. She is definately the most inspiring person and i thank her for everything she has done for me!! thanks Mindy =D

This cake is great. Mindy has made my family, and hers, some of the luckiest test subjects in the world. If any one who tries this cake and thinks it is too moist, they don't have working taste buds. She is a great inspiration to any one who has met her. We are so proud of her and I hope to continue to be in her kitchen again.Just wait untill she lets out the reciepe for the red cabbage cake!
