I tweaked it and cut it in 1/2 only put in 2 cans of pinto beans reg diced tomatoes and 1 pkg of seasoning mix with lean ground beef and added a little garlic powder the rest was pretty much what the recipe called for and it was fantastic. My very picky boyfriend even liked it.

Best chili on the planet, and SOOoo easy to make (if you know the least thing about cooking. Chef Sandra Lee does it again!

It's not bad I think with a few less beans, it would be great! Hey! mabey I'll try it like that and see if it tastes any better!! Anyway I think some of her other recipes are much, much better!!!

I have to say how surprised I was at how bad this recipe is. I am not a "chili snob," I just wanted something quick and easy and not spicy for the kids. This seemed to fit the bill. But after I made it and tasted it, I realized that anyone who has ever eaten chili would probably be really disappointed in this recipe. First of all, it's really watery and thin and that's a "turn off." Next, the taste: very bland and underseasoned. I don't want hot but I do want my food to have some taste. Third, it was greasy and that greasy sheen is also a turn-off. I thiught I was making chili but ended up with a pot of bad bean soup.

This was super easy! My sons love dried beans in most things, but this was a way to get them to try different types. I served it over white rice and put out lots of different toppers: crushed corn chips, sliced scallions, choppped black olives, cheese, and sour cream to name a few. This was a big hit with my sons and my older sis, whom I feed as often as possible.

This chili was soupy and had virtually no taste whatsoever. Surprising, since her other chili recipes rock!

I don't know what went wrong with the other's chili, because my husband and I loved it! We even enjoyed all the leftovers - not getting sick of them as we do with many soups!
